The hit comedy series of the 2000s is returning with a new season, bringing back beloved stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke.
We’re back at Sacred Heart Hospital, revisiting the journey of JD, Turk, and Elliot as they grew from new doctors into seasoned professionals.
It’s now the experienced team’s role to mentor a new group of medical students and residents who are starting their training at the hospital and need support.
Most reboots don’t live up to expectations, but the new Scrubs revival seems to be different. Early reviews are positive, especially about how naturally the original actors have returned to their characters.
Here’s a complete guide to the cast of Scrubs season 10, including all the new faces, as the show returns on Disney+ in the UK.

Zach Braff as Dr John ‘JD’ Dorian

JD is a doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital. In the original series, he started as a new trainee, learning the ropes and dealing with challenging experiences and demanding mentors. Now, he’s the experienced doctor guiding a new group of junior doctors.
The original Scrubs series showed the love story of JD and Elliot, but by the time we catch up with them, they’re divorced. Even though things are strained, they’ll need to learn to work together, as their patients depend on them as both doctors and people.
Beyond his famous role in Scrubs, Zach Braff has appeared in films like Garden State, Chicken Little, and Oz the Great and Powerful. He’s also lent his voice to the animated shows Bojack Horseman and Long Story Short. In addition to acting, Braff has directed episodes of the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso and Shrinking, and co-hosts the Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast with his Scrubs co-star, Donald Faison.
Donald Faison as Dr Chris Turk

Dr. Turk is JD’s closest friend and a fellow surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital. He’s married to nurse Carla Espinosa, and together they have four children.
Before starring in Scrubs, Donald Faison appeared in Felicity and the TV series Clueless. After Scrubs, he’s been in shows like The Exes and Ray Donovan, as well as the movie Kick-Ass 2, and has many other acting credits.
Sarah Chalke as Dr Elliot Reid

Dr. Elliot Reid is a doctor who trained with JD and Turk. Now, they’re all working together again at the hospital where they learned everything, but Elliot is starting to wonder what she wants to do with her career.
Okay, so everyone knows Sarah Chalke from Scrubs, but what’s she been up to since then? Well, I think she’s become super recognizable as the voice of Beth, Rick’s daughter, in Rick & Morty – she does all the different versions of her, which is pretty amazing. Besides that, I’ve seen her in Speechless, and she’s also done voice work for Paradise PD, and she was in the Firefly Lane series on Netflix too.
John C McGinley as Dr Perry Cox

Dr. Perry Cox is an experienced doctor who once guided JD, Turk, and Elliot when they first started working. He’s known for being blunt and having strong opinions, but he also has a caring side that he reveals when people need him most.
Besides his well-known roles, John C. McGinley has recently appeared in shows like Stan Against Evil, Chicago P.D., and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also played US President Lyndon B. Johnson in National Geographic’s Genius: MLK/X.
Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa

Carla Espinosa is the head nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital for most of the show. She briefly stepped down from her position in season nine to focus on her young children. While married to Turk, Carla also became a close friend and source of support for JD, whom she playfully called ‘Bambi’.
Judy Reyes, the actress who plays Carla, will only be in half of the tenth season because of scheduling conflicts with her other show, High Potential, which also airs on ABC.
Besides her current role in High Potential with Kaitlin Olson, Judy Reyes has appeared in several other popular shows. These include Devious Maids, Jane the Virgin, Claws, and Succession.
Robert Maschio as Dr Todd Quinlan

Dr. Todd Quinlan, known to many as ‘The Todd,’ is a surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital. He’s become well-known for his often awkward and sometimes inappropriate jokes, which frequently involve sexual humor.
Robert Maschio is now a real estate agent in Santa Monica, California, and hasn’t acted much recently. His last TV appearance was in 2015 as a guest star on the show Bones.
Christa Miller as Jordan Sullivan

Jordan Sullivan is a former member of Sacred Heart Hospital’s board and was once married to Dr. Perry Cox. Their relationship was rocky after they separated, but they eventually fell in love again before the show ended.
Christa Miller is famous for her work with her husband, Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs. They’ve collaborated on several projects, including Cougar Town and the Apple TV+ series Shrinking. She also contributed to the music for Lawrence’s popular comedy, Ted Lasso, working behind the scenes as a music supervisor.
Neil Flynn as The Janitor

The Janitor is a mysterious, unnamed character at Sacred Heart Hospital who seems to enjoy making JD’s life difficult.
Besides Scrubs, Neil Flynn is well-known for his role as Mike Heck on the sitcom The Middle, which ran from 2009 to 2018. He’s also appeared in popular movies like Mean Girls and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Phill Lewis as Dr Hooch

Dr. Hooch is a surgeon who caused trouble in the original series by holding interns hostage, which led to his firing. It’s currently unknown what role he’ll play in the show’s return.
As a big movie and TV fan, I’ve noticed Phill Lewis popping up in a lot of things! While he’s been directing more recently – I’ve seen his work on shows like iCarly, How I Met Your Father, Frasier, and the new Night Court – he’s also been an actor for a while. I remember him from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and he actually played Chandler’s boss, Steve, in a few episodes of Friends back in season 9. It’s always fun spotting familiar faces!
Vanessa Bayer as Sibby

Sibby works in HR at Sacred Heart and tries to make sure everyone treats each other with respect. Best of luck!
Vanessa Bayer is most famous for being on Saturday Night Live for seven years. She’s also been in shows like I Think You Should Leave and What We Do in the Shadows, and recently appeared in the movie Freakier Friday.
Joel Kim Booster as Dr Eric Park

Dr. Eric Park is a doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital who joined the staff after the events of the original series.
Joel Kim Booster gained recognition for his work on the 2022 romantic comedy Fire Island, which he both wrote and acted in. He’s also been seen in the Apple TV+ series Loot and the BBC/HBO show Industry.
Ava Bunn as Serena

Serena is a new staff member at Sacred Heart Hospital, and it’s JD and his colleagues’ job to train her and help her become a skilled professional.
Ava Bunn also appeared in the Netflix comedy-drama A Man on the Inside, which featured Ted Danson.
Jacob Dudman as Asher

Who is Asher? Another of the trainee doctors.
Besides his recent work, Jacob Dudman has appeared in several popular projects. He’s been in Netflix series like The Stranger and Fate: The Winx Saga, as well as the film The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die. He’s also a prolific voice actor, lending his talents to many Doctor Who audio dramas produced by Big Finish – and has even played the role of The Doctor himself in some of them.
David Gridley as Blake

Who is Blake? Another new addition to the Sacred Heart’s workforce.
Besides his current roles, David Gridley has also appeared in the TV shows High Potential, The Rookie, and FBI: International.
Layla Mohammadi as Amara

Who is Amara? You guessed it: another trainee doctor!
You might remember Layla Mohammadi from her role as Nashwa in the first season of the popular Paramount Plus series, Special Ops: Lioness.
Amanda Morrow as Dashana

Dashana is one of the new trainee doctors joining our team. Like all new doctors, she’ll face challenges as she starts her career.
Amanda Morrow is a rising actress. While she’s best known for her current work, she’s also been cast in the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Scrubs season 10 is available to stream on Disney+ from Thursday 26 February 2026.
