Scrubs season 10 release date, cast, trailer and latest news on revival

A beloved sitcom from the past 25 years is returning to television, and viewers are eager to see if it can live up to the success of its original episodes.

Zach Braff and Donald Faison are reuniting to continue the beloved series Scrubs. Braff will reprise his role as Dr. John ‘JD’ Dorian, now a fully licensed doctor, and Faison will return as Dr. Christopher Turk. This new season, dubbed Scrubs season 10, will continue their story.

The upcoming episodes will show our favorite characters years later, now in the roles of mentors – the same kind of guides who helped them succeed in the past.

Alongside a new group of interns, familiar characters like Elliot (played by Sarah Chalke from Rick & Morty) will be figuring out their place in the constantly evolving world of medicine.

Want to revisit the world of Scrubs? Here’s everything you need to know about season 10, including when it’s coming to Disney+ in the UK.

Scrubs season 10 release date

The tenth season of Scrubs will be available on Disney+ in the UK starting February 26, 2026. New episodes will be released weekly after the first two episodes premiere.

As a critic, I’ve got good news for my UK viewers! You won’t have to wait long to see Scrubs season 10. It’s airing in the US on Wednesdays – on both ABC and Hulu – and will be available to us here in the UK just one day later. That’s a pretty quick turnaround, and I know fans will appreciate not having to wait weeks!

I was so thrilled to see the news that they started filming Scrubs season 10 in November 2025! A little behind-the-scenes peek showed Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, and the rest of the original cast back at Sacred Heart – it was amazing! You can check it out here:

Scrubs season 10 cast

Season 10 of Scrubs brings back many of the show’s original stars, like Zach Braff as JD, Donald Faison as Turk, and Sarah Chalke as Elliot, all returning to their famous roles.

Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley are also coming back as Carla Espinosa, a talented nurse married to Turk, and Perry Cox, the stern doctor who guided JD when he first started. However, they won’t have as big of a role this time around.

Reyes will appear in just four out of the nine episodes because of a conflict with her other show, High Potential, where she stars alongside Kaitlin Olson (known from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

Robert Maschio will play Dr. Todd Quinlan, and Phill Lewis will appear as the quirky surgeon, Hooch.

Season 10 of Scrubs will welcome some new faces to Sacred Heart Hospital, including Vanessa Bayer from Saturday Night Live, who will play HR representative Sibby, and Joel Kim Booster from Fire Island, who will play Dr. Eric Park.

The show will also introduce a new group of young, inexperienced interns, and JD and Turk will be responsible for guiding them as they learn the ropes.

The cast includes British actor Jacob Dudman, known for his role in ‘The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die,’ and Layla Mohammadi, who appears in ‘Special Ops: Lioness.’ They are joined by up-and-coming actors Ava Bunn, David Gridley, and Amanda Morrow.

Although they worked hard to reunite most of the original cast, sadly not everyone could return. Sam Lloyd, who played hospital lawyer Ted Buckland, passed away in 2020 and will be missed.

The show’s creators have named a new location ‘Lloyd’s Tavern’ as a touching tribute to the late Sam Lloyd, with Zach Braff describing it as a ‘beautiful way to remember him’ (according to Esquire).

Neil Flynn, who played the grumpy janitor at Sacred Heart, and Ken Jenkins, who played the intimidating Dr. Kelso, are also missing from the cast of season 10.

Okay, so don’t hold your breath for appearances by Donald Faison or Zach Braff in the current season of the Scrubs revival. However, Braff himself has said they’d absolutely love to figure out a way to get them both back if the show gets picked up for more episodes down the line. It’s not a ‘no’ forever, just a ‘not right now.’

At 85 years old, Jenkins hasn’t acted on screen since 2019, when he was in the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events. A return to acting now would be quite something if it comes to fruition.

I’ve always been fascinated by how Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs, stood by the ninth season, even though it was so different. He really shifted the focus away from JD and introduced a lot of new faces, which was a brave thing to do. It’s a shame it didn’t quite land with longtime fans like me, but I respect him for taking the risk.

Lawrence shared with TVLine that the actors, including Kerry Bishé from Halt and Catch Fire and Dave Franco from Together, were really getting comfortable with their roles by the end of season nine. He’d love to see one of them make a quick appearance in a future project.

Scrubs season 10 plot

Scrubs season 10 finds JD and Turk back together “for the first time in a long time”.

Though the hospital and its staff have evolved, the strong friendship between the main characters remains constant. The story follows both familiar and new faces as they deal with the challenges and joys of working at Sacred Heart, with plenty of heartwarming moments and unexpected twists.

Series creator Lawrence explained to TVLine that the new episodes explore how the US healthcare system has negatively impacted patients, while also highlighting their continued hope and introducing a fresh group of younger characters.

I was so excited to hear from Judy Reyes about the Scrubs revival! She mentioned that when we see Carla and Turk again, their kids will be teenagers – four of them, actually! It sounds like dealing with all that teenage drama might be why we don’t see Carla as much in certain parts of the show, and it makes so much sense. I can’t wait to see how they handle it!

Scrubs season 10 trailer

As a huge Scrubs fan, I was so excited to see the trailer for what’s being called Season 10! It’s really cool to see J.D. and Turk all grown up, and they’ve cleverly flipped one of the show’s classic jokes on its head. You can check it out here:
