Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Kids Make Rare Public Plea at His Sentencing

Sean “Diddy” Combs is getting support from his kids.

At the rapper’s sentencing hearing on October 3rd, his children – Quincy Taylor Brown, 34, Justin Combs, 31, Christian Combs, 27, and 18-year-olds Chance Combs, D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs – testified in support of their father. He faces a potentially lengthy prison sentence after being found guilty in July of two charges related to transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution.

According to NBC News, Quincy told Judge Arun Subramanian during the hearing that his father has transformed. His brother, Justin-who is Combs’ son with Misa Hylton-followed by saying he wishes his father will have the opportunity “to right this wrong and to be the man he truly is.”

Additionally, Christian-along with his siblings Quincy, D’Lila, and Jessie, all of whom Kim Porter shared with their father-requested that the judge show his father leniency during sentencing.

“He’s the best in the world, my hero-he’s always been, and always will be,” Christian went on. “He consistently showed me the importance of treating women with respect.”

The 55-year-old, who is also the father of 2-year-old Love Sean with Dana Tran, appeared deeply touched as he listened to his children speak. He lowered his head and began to cry when his daughter Chance started to testify.

Chance, who shares a child with Sarah Chapman, spoke about feeling a void in their lives. She also mentioned that her father’s 13 months in prison had been “unexpectedly healing.”

Likewise, D’Lila mentioned her youngest brother or sister as she pleaded with Subramanian to be lenient with her father’s sentencing. (The prosecutors involved in Combs’ case are requesting an 11-year, three-month prison term, whereas his legal team is arguing for a maximum of 14 months, taking into account time he has already served.)

D’Lila shared that her 2-year-old sister keeps asking, ‘Where is dad?’ – a question that deeply resonates with their own experience of growing up without a mother. “It feels like an emptiness that will never go away. We’re exhausted from always having to be brave. We’ve already suffered the loss of both our parents. We just want the opportunity to recover and rebuild our lives together,” she pleaded.

Following testimony from Combs’ children, the judge thanked them for sharing their thoughts, acknowledging “how hard it is to stand up here and it is very important for me to hear.”

As a longtime follower of this case, I can tell you that Combs was convicted on the charges of transporting people for the purpose of prostitution after a really lengthy, two-month trial. However, thankfully, he was found not guilty on the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. It was a relief to see he wasn’t convicted on everything they accused him of, even though the convictions are still concerning. It’s been a complex case, to say the least.

For a deeper look into Combs’ legal proceedings, keep reading…

In July, Judge Arun Subramanian set Sean “Diddy” Combs‘s sentencing date for October 3, 2025. The judge rejected Combs’ request for release on bail before the sentencing, explaining that the rapper had a “years-long pattern of violence” and should remain in jail.

Following the trial, where Combs was acquitted of charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking of both Cassie Ventura and a woman known as “Jane“-but convicted of transporting them for the purpose of prostitution-the singer’s attorney responded to the court’s decisions.

The legal proceedings began when our client, Cassie Ventura, bravely filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023,” Douglas Wigdor stated in a July 2nd announcement to TopMob News. “While the jury didn’t find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie to the required legal standard, her actions allowed them to convict him of transporting someone for the purpose of prostitution. By sharing her story, Cassie has significantly impacted the entertainment world and the pursuit of justice.”

Acknowledging the charges – to which Combs entered a plea of not guilty – Wigdor stated, “We need to emphasize, without any doubt, that we stand with and support our client, who demonstrated remarkable bravery during the entire process.”

Wigdor also commended Ventura, who testified as one of 34 witnesses during Combs’ 29-day trial, for her contributions.

He added that she demonstrated remarkable courage and highlighted the problematic behavior of influential figures, as well as the decades of unchecked misconduct. “This case showed that significant improvements are desperately needed, and we remain dedicated to supporting those who have experienced harm.”

After learning he was found not guilty on three of the five charges in his federal case, Combs-who could have faced life in prison if convicted on everything-dropped to his knees and bowed his head into a chair, appearing to pray, according to NBC News reporters present in the courtroom.

According to reports from the news outlet, Combs’ family members were in the courtroom and applauded the outcome regarding the music mogul. The lawyers representing Combs embraced one another, and Combs himself hugged attorney Brian Steel.

On July 2nd, the jury of 12 people announced their decisions regarding the five federal charges against Combs in his sex trafficking case. After three days of discussion, the jurors determined he was guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution, involving both a former girlfriend, Ventura, and another woman known only as “Jane.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs-who maintained his innocence regarding all accusations-was acquitted of one charge of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking.

On the day before issuing their decision, the jury informed U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian that they couldn’t agree on the racketeering charge because of firmly held, differing opinions. Judge Subramanian spoke to the jurors and urged them to keep discussing the case. They ultimately reached a verdict just hours after resuming deliberations the following day.

Prosecutor Christy Slavik addressed the jury for four hours and fifty minutes, summarizing the case and claiming that Sean “Diddy” Combs consistently relied on intimidation, force, and control to achieve his goals.

I’ve always known he was incredibly determined – he simply wouldn’t accept ‘no’ as an answer. It really felt like everything revolved around him; it was his world, and we were all there to cater to his every need. He truly saw it as his kingdom, and expected everyone to serve him.

Slavik highlighted two incidents involving Sean Combs: a physical assault on his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, and an alleged assault on his then-girlfriend in 2024, who is being referred to as “Jane” during the trial.

She explained, “Although these two events happened eight years apart, they are connected.” She continued, “Think of them as parts of a larger narrative-the story of Sean Combs and the criminal organization he oversaw, comprised of those closest to him.”

She continued, explaining that the criminal group consistently fulfilled the defendant’s wishes by using a deliberate cycle of violence, pressure, and deceit. The defendant believed he could conceal his actions by relying on the silence and embarrassment of others, thinking his celebrity, riches, and influence made him immune to legal consequences.

Slavik contended that during the trial, Combs benefited from a dedicated team of assistants. She characterized them as a “small army of personal staff” focused on fulfilling his every need, bolstering his influence, and safeguarding his image no matter the expense.

The prosecution filed a document with the court, asking for permission to change some details of their arguments regarding the attempted arson and kidnapping charges.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the legal situation surrounding Combs, and here’s the latest. He’s still facing serious charges – a racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking – which initially included allegations of kidnapping and arson. However, prosecutors recently – in a letter dated June 24th – clarified they’ve removed specific instructions from the charges. This means they’ve dropped the attempted kidnapping claims under both California and New York law, the attempted arson claim under California law, and the charge of aiding and abetting sex trafficking. While the core charges remain, this is a notable shift in the legal approach. It’s important to stay informed as this case develops, and I’ll continue to share updates as they become available. Please note: I am not a legal professional, and this is not legal advice.

The government also stated it hopes that making the language simpler will not only make the instructions easier to follow, but also avoid any misunderstandings.

Combs told JudgeSubramanian that he will not take the stand during his sex trafficking trial.

The judge made it clear that no matter what the rap mogul chose to do, “no one-not even the jury-could assume he was guilty simply because he didn’t take the stand.”

Combs stated he had discussed with his team the possibility of not testifying, but stressed that the ultimate decision to do so was “solely” his own.

“I’ve given this a lot of thought, and this is what I’ve decided,” he told the judge. “This is my choice, and I’m standing by it.”

According to Teny Garagos, Combs’ lawyer, both the defense and the prosecution anticipate needing “at least four hours” to deliver their closing statements to the judge.

After Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Joseph Cerciello finished several days of testimony as a witness for the prosecution on June 24th, the defense will now present its case. Combs’ legal team announced they won’t be calling any witnesses of their own, and will instead base their argument on the evidence that has already been presented.

During Ceriello’s testimony on June 23rd, the jury saw explicit videos. NBC News reporters present in the courtroom stated these videos seemed to be from what Combs referred to as “freak offs,” and they were officially presented as evidence.

The special agent reported finding 50 explicit videos dated from 2021 and 2022, but the jury only viewed two of these files – they used headphones and individual screens to do so.

In voicemail messages to his former chief of staff Kristina Khorram -which were played on June 23-Combs outlined a number of requests he had while staying at a hotel in November 2021. These requests included replenishing the supply of baby oil, something he often used when he was experiencing intense emotional distress-referring to these moments as “freak offs.”

He told Khorram, “Have them call me before they start driving.” Then, seemingly surprised to be out, he added, “I can’t believe I’m out. Put 20 bottles in this motherfker.”

In addition to extending her hotel stay by one day, Khorram responded, “OK. The baby oil is right outside the door.”

According to text messages, his previous employee messaged him saying she was setting up an IV drip for him and Jane. He had used this as part of at least one recovery after a “freak off”, as revealed in the group chat messages.

She also made sure that there were Plan-B pills, an emergency contraceptive, in his nightstand.

The jury saw a collection of text messages exchanged between Combs and Ventura. In these messages, the singer of “Long Way 2 Go” openly described how the alleged abuse was affecting her.

In March 2017, after Combs asked Ventura – his on-again, off-again girlfriend from 2007 to 2018 – if she wanted to take some time apart, she responded, “No. I simply don’t want to be made to feel bad for standing up for myself, or ever. You treat me in a way that makes me feel unimportant.

In another instance, she further accused her ex of physically assaulting her.

I offered you my love, but the moment I looked away, your actions hurt me deeply, and you physically assaulted me, grabbing my hair and pulling me. I’m 30 years old,” Ventura wrote to him that May. “This is no longer a game. Last night, I felt completely lifeless, and it was as if I were watching it happen to someone else because witnessing my own strength and beauty was so powerful.”

Brendan Paul, who worked as Sean Combs’ assistant from 2022 to 2024, testified that he bought drugs for Combs several times. These drugs included “Marijuana, 2C, cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy.”

Paul explained that they would contact the drug dealer by text, and the dealer would then come to one of their homes. He also mentioned being fired several times for different reasons, including once for forgetting a Lululemon fanny pack. He said he initially met the dealer either through text messages or phone calls.

However, Paul vehemently denied being a “drug mule” for the rap mogul.

As a regular follower of the court, I was there on June 18th when Judge Subramanian had to end the session for the day. It happened because one of the jurors wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t come back. And just so you know, court won’t be in session on June 19th either, as it’s Juneteenth.

The judge stated, “We have a juror who is ill and unable to attend. They experienced dizziness and had to return home. Their partner informed us of the situation. Since this juror is a member of the main jury, it seems we won’t be able to continue with the trial today.”

The judge pointed out that it’s not yet known if the juror’s sudden vertigo-causing dizziness, nausea, and headaches, among other effects-will be short-lived or continue long-term, but stated they would “monitor the situation.”

Because of the Juneteenth holiday on June 19th, Judge Subramanian stated that the trial will continue on June 20th with a shorter schedule, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Soon after Judge Subramanian removed Juror No. 6 due to inconsistencies regarding their home address, another juror is potentially facing removal. This stems from an alleged inappropriate discussion about the case with a previous coworker. The juror was questioned by the judge and, according to NBC News, was asked to submit their phone for review.

By the close of the court session on June 16, a decision regarding the member’s dismissal hadn’t been reached.

Kanye West showed up at the New York City courthouse on June 13th to support Sean Combs. The “Stronger” rapper was at the courthouse for around 30 minutes, quickly stopping by the waiting area but didn’t go inside the courtroom itself. The courtroom is mainly for Combs’ family and lawyers, and also for journalists and members of the public who have been waiting in line for hours to get a seat.

Jane remembered a disagreement they had after she took a trip to Las Vegas with a different rapper and his spouse.

She stated that this resulted in the act of watching someone engage in sexual activity without their knowledge, after she contacted Anton, a sex worker who she and Combs frequently employed. During the trip, a group of people observed him having sex with a woman in a hotel room.

Jane informed Combs’ lawyer, Geragos, that the music executive was angry because he believed she had gone to a sexually suggestive event with another man. He used the phrase “freak off” to describe it.

During the 21st day of the Combs trial, Maurene Comey, a prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s office, told the court that her team wants to dismiss one of the twelve jurors.

“We really didn’t want to submit this letter,” she explained to Judge Subramanian just before the jury came into the New York City courtroom. “It seemed like someone wasn’t being completely honest with the court, and that’s a major concern for us.”

Defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro-noting that Juror No. 6 is one of the Black jurors-requested a day or two to submit a written response and review relevant legal precedents.

Judge Subramanian stated he will delay making arrangements regarding the juror until a decision is reached.

On June 10th, Jane and Garagos engaged in a difficult discussion where Garagos implied the witness was exchanging sexual favors for expensive gifts.

Geragos reviewed text messages from November 2021 exchanged between Jane and Combs. The messages showed the witness was distressed that Combs was having sexual relations with other women. According to the texts, she questioned Combs about whether he had gifted one of these women “a Chanel bag” after their encounter.

Jane said that she didn’t get a Chanel purse from Combs, telling Garagos that she “got trauma.”

When the attorney asked what a Bottega bag was, she replied, “I’m sure you have one.”

And when Geragos asked how much the item costs, Jane asked, “How much does my body cost?”

Jane was granted a 10-minute break following the exchange.

Jane stated that in approximately 2022, after researching her relationship with Combs, she came to believe he fit the definition of a “cuckhold”-someone who derives enjoyment from observing their partner’s sexual encounters with another individual.

“It helped me understand things better,” she explained, describing her motivation for the research. “I was really trying to thoroughly investigate all the reasons why they enjoyed watching their partner with other men.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely, and the witness suggested something quite intriguing. They believe that P. Diddy’s requests for “hotel nights” – which, interestingly, mirrored what Ventura referred to as “freak offs” – might stem from him exploring his own sexuality. It’s a sensitive topic, of course, but the witness posited this as a potential motivation behind his behavior.

She testified that individuals with these tendencies might harbor genuine curiosity but feel too embarrassed to explore it personally. Therefore, she explained, they might use a woman as a proxy to satisfy that curiosity without directly participating in the act.”

Jane stated that she gave Paul-an escort she and Combs hired several times-the nickname “Trifecta.” She explained she chose the name because she felt their sexual connection was as strong and successful as that of famous basketball players.

“I was Kobe Bryant and Paul was Shaq [O’Neil],” she told jurors. “Combs was Michael Jordan.”

She said Paul was “really nice,” and mentioned that if she “had to” engage with escorts, she preferred “someone with a warm energy.”

Jane stated that the relationship between Combs and Khorram caused problems in her romantic involvement with the music executive. She described it as a “point of contention” in her relationship with him.

“She was constantly by his side,” Jane explained about Khorram. “It created problems for Sean and me. I think she felt very strongly about me, and that really affected how Sean behaved towards me.”

On June 10th, Judge Subramanian rejected a request for a mistrial from Combs’ lawyers. They had claimed that Ventura and her friend Bryana Bongolan were not truthful about Bongolan being threatened with being dropped from the 17th-floor balcony by the rapper.

His legal team, who had previously asked the judge to declare a mistrial – a request that was turned down – claimed in the document that the prosecution engaged in “misconduct” by presenting what they called “perjured testimony.”

Okay, so I’ve been following this case *so* closely, and according to a letter, the government apparently presented evidence they knew – or *should* have known – was totally false! It’s about their claim that Mr. Combs, like, dangled Bryana Bongolan off the balcony of Cassie Ventura’s apartment back in September 2016. Seriously! The letter basically says this is a huge issue and if they continue, it could lead to an unfair conviction. They’re asking the Court to declare a mistrial, and honestly, I think they’re right! It’s just… unbelievable.

Jane alleged that the rap mogul had beaten her for hours June 2024.

Oh my god, you won’t *believe* what I heard in court! Apparently, Jane was saying that she and Combs got into this huge fight because he was, like, seeing this *much* younger woman – she was 25 years younger! And get this – she claims it all escalated so quickly that she ended up calling him a “pedophile” – can you even imagine?! – and then, she actually *pushed* his head into a marble kitchen counter! It’s just… shocking. I mean, the details are just so intense and I’m completely obsessed with finding out everything!

The witness stated she hid in the main bedroom, and Sean Combs began trying to force the door open. (Pictures of the damaged door were shown as evidence.) She claimed that while attempting to escape, the Bad Boy Records founder kicked her in the back of her leg, causing her to fall.

She told the prosecution that he pinned her to the ground in a chokehold, lifted her up, and she struggled to breathe, rising onto the balls of her feet. “I was just trying to get out of his grip,” she explained.

Jane stated she rushed out of the house and concealed herself behind an outdoor wall for about two hours, waiting for him to go away, but he remained. She then said they went back to his house, and she huddled in the backyard, trying to shield herself while Combs reportedly assaulted her.

Jane testified that the fight got worse after Combs supposedly hit her in return. “He began punching my head,” she stated in court. “He started kicking me. He kept yelling and just continued to punch.”

She alleged that he told her that she was “trying to take him away from his kids and his family.”

She testified that she told him, ‘No, that’s not true. Please just leave me alone. Just go. Please stop,’. She continued, stating that he then grabbed her by the arm and hair and began dragging her back to the house – pulling her by her hair and arm.”

Following the reported attack, Jane stated she noticed “two welts about the size of golf balls” on her forehead, and also had a black eye.

Jane stated that investigators with Homeland Security Investigations raided her home – which Sean Combs paid for in March 2023 – as well as several other properties owned by the music mogul. She explained that when agents arrived at her house, she immediately contacted Combs’ head of security to inform him of what was happening.

Jane claimed that the powerful businessman threatened to make their intimate videos public and share them with the father of her child in December 2023.

As Jane and Combs’ relationship worsened, she stated that he told her he had “nothing to lose” by releasing the videos. She testified that he repeatedly pressured her with phone calls, describing it as “back-to-back pressure phone calls.”

She sent a message to Khorram detailing what happened, and this message was submitted as evidence. In the text messages, Jane stated that Combs was threatening to release the video, and she claimed she was “heavily drugged” in it.

She explained she required “time away from” Combs to process “all the trauma” he had inflicted upon her.

Jane told the court that Khorram assured her that Combs would not use the footage.

During her testimony, Jane stated that certain aspects of Ventura’s lawsuit from November 2023-which was eventually resolved-were similar to what she herself had gone through with Combs.

“I nearly passed out, and I believe I actually did,” she shared with the jury, while visibly upset. “There were three particular pages that were deeply disturbing and directly related to what I was going through.”

Jane, a participant in the “hotel nights,” shared that the experience felt like she was reading her own story. This prompted her to reach out to Combs directly through text messages.

Honestly, reading the details of the lawsuit felt deeply personal and triggering. As the screenshots revealed, she expressed feeling like she was reliving her own sexual trauma. She described being sickened by the accuracy of the details – it was, as she put it, ‘exactly word for word,’ recounting those drug-filled days and nights. She felt he’d anticipated this, and accused him of gaslighting her and making her feel like she was losing her mind. It was a really difficult statement to read, highlighting the emotional toll this situation has taken.

“I’m deeply upset and felt pressured to engage in activity repeatedly,” the messages read. “You led me to question my own feelings about past sexual trauma, making me feel unstable. I feel extremely violated. What happened was sexual exploitation.”

Combs then called Jane and secretly recorded their conversation, which was later presented as evidence. During the call, he told her they “did these things together” and that this was the time he needed her “to be there.”

Jane, unaware she was being recorded, shared with Combs that she felt “sick” to her stomach after reviewing Ventura’s documents.

Jane stated that during her involvement in “Hotel Nights” with Combs and male escorts, she frequently used ecstasy. However, on one particular occasion, she chose to abstain from drugs while engaging in sexual activity with three men.

She stated in court, “I was with several men that night.” She explained that she vomited, and then Sean came in and reassured her, saying, ‘You’ll feel better now. Let’s go outside.’”

Jane said that at the end of the night, she felt “absolutely terrible.”

On June 7th, after 18 days of the trial, Combs’ lawyers requested a mistrial. They claimed that Ventura and Bongolan had falsely stated that the rap mogul had threatened Bongolan by holding him over the balcony on the 17th floor.

The legal team for Combs-after Judge Subramanian previously rejected their request for a mistrial-claimed the prosecution engaged in “misconduct” by presenting what they described as “perjured testimony.”

The letter states that during the trial, the government presented evidence they either knew was false or should have known was false. This evidence concerned their claim that Mr. Combs threatened Bryana Bongolan by holding her over the balcony of Cassie Ventura’s apartment in September 2016. Therefore, the letter argues that to prevent an unjust conviction, the Court should declare a mistrial.

The defense team claimed Bongolan was dishonest regarding the event, highlighting what they said were contradictions in her account. The prosecution is scheduled to reply on June 9th, and the judge will issue a decision the following day.

Jane stated in court that Combs started covering the rent on her house in April 2023, after they had been together for about two years, and continues to pay it. She explained that they had previously agreed, just a month before, that he would give her a regular monthly allowance.

“It was in this ‘hotel night,’ I remember that this was when Sean proposed this ‘love contract’ between him and I,” she told jurors. “It was him asking me what I wanted for an allowance every

month, just moving forward, that’s what he was going to do for me.”

She explained that they had disagreed about the amount of money, stating, “I suggested 15,000, but he countered with 10,000,” regarding the allowance. She continued, “I began searching for different living spaces and eventually moved into a new house, utilizing that financial plan.” She desired a large and comfortable home for herself and her child, a place where they could relax and find some stability in their relationship. She felt she had consistently given him her affection, and this felt like his way of reciprocating.

Jane stated that, according to the agreement, she was entitled to payment “for everything without pressure for two years.”
