Season 10 PvP Build Guide for New World

To compete in player-versus-player combat in New World: Aeternum’s Season 10, it’s important to create a well-designed character build.

Your standard build for regular gameplay might work okay, but Player versus Player (PvP) combat requires a different approach. You’ll need to customize your build specifically for PvP, like choosing Perks that reduce damage from popular weapons.

In this guide, we’ll give you a strong build that you can use to dive into the game’s PvP.

PvP Build Guide | New World: Aeternum – Season 10

Weapon Combination – Rapier + Fire Staff

Let’s start with the weapons! This build uses a Rapier and Fire Staff together. It’s a popular choice for player-versus-player combat because it lets you deal a lot of damage at both close and long distances, and it keeps you very mobile.

With that combination in mind, your Attributes should look something like this:

  • STR – 5
  • DEX – 100
  • INT – 323
  • FOC – 5
  • CON – 102

Your Constitution (CON) is currently at 102 because you can temporarily increase it to 150 using food. Eating Artisan’s Roasted Rabbit with Seasoned Vegetables will raise your CON to 150 for at least one hour.

If you can’t afford that food, you can aim for 305 Intelligence and 120 Constitution instead. Then, eating Stuffed Calamari will give you an extra 30 Constitution, bringing you up to the 150 mark.

We strongly suggest getting ready to achieve 150 CON. It will significantly improve your chances of surviving player-versus-player combat by reducing the amount of critical damage you receive.

Regardless of your specific stats, aim for a Skill Tree setup like the one shown above for both of your weapons. This build emphasizes being well-rounded, allowing you to handle anything other players might use against you in PvP.

Gear Recommendation

Weapons and Heartrune

Focus on getting the Finisher Rapier as your primary weapon. You can obtain this powerful artifact by defeating Montrapala the Unruled, who is located on the Isle of Zurvan.

As a fan, I’m really excited about this Artifact! It’s all about taking advantage of enemies you’ve made bleed. Basically, if an enemy is bleeding, you’ll do 15% extra damage to them, which is awesome. And to make things even better, every time you hit a bleeding enemy, it’ll speed up how quickly your Flourish ability recharges. It’s a really cool synergy!

This benefit works best when combined with the Keenly Jagged II Perk, which needs to be equipped somewhere on your character. It doesn’t matter what item has the Perk – it affects both your Rapier and Fire Staff, even if it’s not directly on those weapons. We’ll cover essential Perks in more detail later.

When it comes to your Fire Staff, you can use any Fire Staff that’s at the Legendary quality. This build doesn’t require the Inferno Artifact, which is different from many other setups.

The Inferno weapon isn’t ideal for this build because it primarily benefits from Strength and Intelligence, while this build focuses on maximizing damage from the Fire Staff, which works better with different stats.

You can still experiment with it if you’d like. If you really want to focus on using the Rapier, equipping the Inferno might help. However, we generally suggest using a different Legendary Fire Staff instead.

Finally, for this setup, use the strongest version of the Heartrune of Dark Ascent that you can get. It provides a powerful, temporary invincibility attack that also heals you, which can be a lifesaver in tough situations!

Other Artifacts

Besides weapons, there are other useful items to collect. One of the first you’ll want is the Tumbler Feetwraps, a type of footwear. You can find these as random rewards in Output Rush and Capture the Flag caches when you reach Level 61 or higher.

Their special ability, called Shirking Blessing, gives you a significant boost after a successful dodge. For 5 seconds, you’ll gain +10% Empower, +18% Fortify, and heal for 200 health plus 2% of your maximum health!

Next, you’ll want to get the Endless Thirst earrings. These can be obtained as a rare drop from defeating Mahantaram during a Savage Divide Mutated Expedition.

This Artifact is useful for a couple of reasons, but primarily it gives you a significant boost – 19% Fortify and 11% Empower – every time you use a Potion, and that boost lasts for 8 seconds.

Additionally, the special perk, The Thirst, boosts the effectiveness of healing items by 33%. Keep in mind, though, that using Survival and Mana Potions will then have a 25% longer cooldown.

Ultimately, the main benefit of getting these two items is that they’ll help you maximize your Empower buff. This is crucial because Empower increases all of your damage, both when using a Rapier and a Fire Staff.

You don’t really need Artifacts for the rest of your equipment. While you can use them, Perks are much more important. Let’s focus on which Perks you should prioritize.

Perks and Gems to Get

Finally, let’s talk about the Perks and Gems you should prioritize for your gear. Here’s a list, starting with the most important and going down to the least important:

  • Keenly Jagged II – 1 Stack.
  • Keenly Empowered II – 1 Stack.
  • Acutely Empowered – 3 Stacks.
  • Keenly Fortified II – 1 Stack.
  • Hasted Vigor – 1 Stack.
  • Shirking Heals II – 5 Stacks.
  • Omnidirectional Evade II – 1 Stack.
  • Empowering Fireball II – 1 Stack, ideally on Fire Staff.
  • Thrust Harnessing II – As many as possible.
  • Shirking Energy II – As many as you want.
  • Shirking Fortification II – As many as you want.
  • Frozen Gambit – 1 Stack.
  • Leeching Flurry – 1 Stack, but can’t be put on the Finisher, so it won’t be at max power.
  • Physical Ward IV – As many as possible.
  • Thrust Conditioning II – As many as possible.
  • Ignited Elemental Ward – As many as you want.

Now that you have this list of benefits, you’re all set to create a powerful PvP build for New World: Aeternum’s Season 10. And if you’re interested, we also have a guide for building effective PvE characters!
