Netflix recently shared data about its most popular shows and movies. While viewers can see what’s trending on the platform, Netflix also provides deeper insights into its content. If you’ve been on Netflix lately, you’ve probably noticed the newest season of Bridgerton consistently ranking among the top ten. But new data reveals just how popular it is: in only three weeks, the first part of Season 4 has been watched for over 300 million hours.
Over three weeks, viewers around the world watched the show for approximately 317.9 million hours. This is particularly notable because only four episodes of the newest season had been released at the time. It was the second most-watched TV show last week, just behind the latest season of The Lincoln Lawyer. Interestingly, The Lincoln Lawyer had ten episodes available but only slightly surpassed the show in viewership.
‘Bridgerton’s 2026 Reign Is Only Just Beginning
Fans who enjoyed the first four episodes of Bridgerton will be happy to hear that the next set of episodes is coming soon! Unlike some other popular Netflix shows like Stranger Things, which release episodes over a longer period, Season 4, Part 2 will be available just four weeks after Part 1, starting February 26th.
People who didn’t watch Bridgerton when it first came out might think it only became popular because of the pandemic, similar to how Tiger King unexpectedly took off. However, the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn were already successful before the TV show was released. Like most adaptations of books, the show follows the main story, but with some changes to work better on television.
The book series has eight parts, and the fourth season of the show is based on the third book, An Offer from a Gentleman. Since the Netflix series has only covered a little over half of the books, it looks like Bridgerton will continue for quite a while.
Season 4 Has Been on a Course-Correction

Adapting a popular book into a TV show is always tricky, and it’s impossible to please every fan, even when the show stays true to the original story. Viewers of Season 3 were particularly vocal about how the show developed its characters, especially the romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

This season truly features the whole cast, letting interesting relationships develop. While some characters haven’t had as much focus as fans would like, the show seems to be doing a better job of balancing everyone’s stories after the first four episodes. Hopefully, this improvement continues in the second half of the season.
