A Secret Service agent protecting former First Lady Jill Biden unintentionally shot himself in the leg.
Around 8:30 a.m. on March 27th at Philadelphia International Airport, a Secret Service agent accidentally fired their gun, according to spokesperson Nate Herring. Herring stated this was a negligent discharge in a statement to MS NOW.
Biden, 74, was not in the area at the time of the shooting.
According to a statement from the Philadelphia Police Department obtained by MS NOW, the agent was driving an unmarked Chevrolet SUV while on duty when the gun went off.
Police say the agent was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.
Officials confirmed that the incident didn’t affect President Biden’s schedule or cause any problems for the airport. Thankfully, no one else was hurt.

Jill Biden recently told the Associated Press that writing her memoir was a therapeutic experience. She described it as a chance to reflect on both the difficult and wonderful times she and President Joe Biden shared throughout his time in office.
She explained that the story also reflects her experience juggling the demands of her career with her roles as a mother, grandmother, and First Lady.
