Team Reptile, the creators of the popular game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, revealed their next project, which appears to be another fast-paced, stylish game similar to Jet Set Radio.
Hyperfunk is a new game coming to PCs and consoles, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet. Check out the first teaser!
Hyperfunk feels like a continuation of the gameplay found in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. You play as a gang member trying to dominate the city by pulling off impressive moves and tagging locations with graffiti.
So, basically, anything cool I pull off with my skates, bike, or board charges up my boost pack. That lets me zoom around the city super fast – it’s all about linking tricks and combos to keep the speed going!
You can play this game either online with others or solo, and you’ll be able to team up and compete or play on your own.
Like we said before, this game feels and looks a lot like the popular Jet Set Radio series – and that series is actually getting a new release too!
The publisher is trying to bring back some older, popular game series, and Jet Set Radio is one of the projects they’re working on. However, not much has been revealed about it yet.
It remains to be seen if it will recapture the magic of its predecessors, but for now, Team Reptile is keeping the spirit of this unique, fast-paced sports genre alive.
