On August 27, Selena shared on her Instagram story: “When my dear friend becomes engaged,” accompanied by images from a garden engagement event.

She also savored a significant full-circle instance when Taylor reached out to her on Twitter in 2009, expressing that genuine love exists beyond childhood imaginings, stating, “Real love still happens sometimes. It’s not just something we dream up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.” A fan then shared this message alongside pictures of Selena and Taylor’s proposal moments, captioned, “16 years later,” which Selena later posted on her Instagram Story.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romantic journey started in July 2023, as her Eras Tour had a performance scheduled at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

As a big fan of Taylor Swift (often referred to as a “Swiftie”), the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs eagerly attended the show, hoping to present Taylor with a friendship bracelet inscribed with his number. Unfortunately, he was unable to throw the bracelet due to her pre-show routines.

Travis expressed his disappointment during an episode of his New Heights podcast on July 26th. He mentioned that she doesn’t speak before or after her shows to preserve her voice for the 44 songs she sings, which prevented him from giving her a handmade bracelet he created for her.

Following his on-stage blunder, which he’d later label as “rock solid,” Travis made his move by extending an invitation to the Grammy award-winner, asking him to catch the Chiefs game live at Arrowhead Stadium.

He expressed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had challenged her to a performance, saying, “I’ve seen you light up the stage at Arrowhead. Maybe it’s time for us both to show off our skills there and see who can put on a better show.” So, we’ll have to wait and see what transpires in the upcoming days.

Travis sported a mustache that he had grown for the first time in August at training camp, when they were initially introduced to Taylor.

Back then, sporting that mustache and the No. 87 jersey became quite a statement, and I proudly donned them when I first crossed paths with Taylor.

According to a reliable source familiar with the matter, by early September, Travis and Taylor were exchanging occasional texts and having brief conversations.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

During the NFL’s off-season, the duo vacationed together in snowy Montana, accompanied by sportscaster Erin Andrews.
