Sharna Burgess Details Parenting Her, Brian Austin Green’s Blended Fam

Sharna Burgess is a pro at co-parenting.

The ballroom dancer explained that she strives to parent all of her fiancé Brian Austin Green’s children – her son Zane, 3, and his sons Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, Journey, 9, and Kassius, 23 – with equal kindness and support. She wants to ensure they all feel loved and cared for.

Sharna explained on Instagram that she parents her other children just like she parents Zane. She uses the same rules—adjusted for their ages—and gives them all the same amount of love, affection, and opportunities to thrive. Her goal is to set them all up for successful futures.

Now that the former Dancing With the Stars professional and the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor are blending their families, she’s made an effort to make sure all the children feel equally cared for.

Ever since Zane joined our lives, I’ve really tried to be careful about how things are. I absolutely wouldn’t want either of my children to ever feel overlooked or like they’re not treated the same. It’s so important to me that they both feel loved and valued equally.

Sharna and Brian became a couple in 2020, after Brian ended his relationship with the actress from Jennifer’s Body. They quickly established a good family life together.

Before Sharna and Brian got engaged in June 2023, the dancer talked about what keeps their relationship strong.

Sharna shared on the Not So Hollywood podcast in April 2023 that things are going really well with the relationship. She added that everyone was planning a fun day together at Universal Studios, which she thought was wonderful for the children.

The 40-year-old explained that their success comes from everyone sharing the same goal.

Honestly, what I love most about this is that it’s all about the children. When you really think about it, that’s all that matters – creating a nurturing, healthy, and supportive space where they can thrive. Everything else just fades into the background.

Ultimately, she shared it’s all about keeping things positive despite the challenges of divorce.

We’re really good at co-parenting and try to make it enjoyable,” she said. “I think it’s strange that some people believe exes can’t be friends, and that co-parenting always has to be difficult.

Brian Austin Green spent a relaxing morning cuddling with his three sons, Noah (born in 2012), Bodhi (born in 2014), and Journey (born in 2016), whom he shares with his former partner, Megan Fox.

I was so happy for Brian after his split from Megan back in 2020! It was wonderful to see him find love again, especially with Sharna Burgess, his partner from Dancing with the Stars. They’ve built such a beautiful life together, and I was thrilled when they welcomed their son, Zane, in 2022. And then, the engagement news in 2023 just made my heart soar – they’re a perfect match!

Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker, had a daughter named Casie with his former partner, Emma Cannon, back in 2009. More recently, in 2023, he became engaged to Megan Fox.

Megan, who is dedicated to raising her children with their father despite being separated, has been honest about the challenges. In a 2022 interview with Glamour UK, she explained that it’s difficult balancing wanting to be with her kids constantly with the feeling she’s not doing enough, especially since she only gets to spend half of their time with them. She accepts that’s simply the reality of the situation.

Brian has a blended family, including his adult son, Kassius, from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil. In December 2023, the actor took a holiday photo with his partner, Sharna, and all five of his children.

Being a mother helps Megan stay centered and connected to what truly matters. She shared with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2023 that it reminds her of how present she’s always been in her children’s lives. She also feels she sees her own parenting reflected in their actions and how they behave.

In 2022, the actress known for Jennifer’s Body shared a rare photo with the singer of “Emo Girl” and his daughter. The picture was taken at his coffee shop, 27 Club Coffee, in Ohio.

The popular musician now relies on his daughter’s feedback when creating songs. He told Kelly Clarkson in 2021 that he values her opinion above his own, explaining that she has a good sense of what’s currently popular and can tell him if a song is working well.

To celebrate Mother’s Day 2024, Brian shared a sweet message for Sharna on Instagram, calling her an amazing mother and fiancée and expressing how much everyone loves her.

Megan Fox intentionally keeps her children off social media to shield them from online exposure. She explained to Glamour UK in 2022 that she made this decision when they were very young, wanting to protect their innocence as much as possible. While she’s been successful so far, she acknowledges she can’t keep them completely protected forever.

Brian says the key to successful co-parenting is choosing when to argue. He explained to TopMob News in 2024 that separation will impact children, but parents can control how it impacts them. Trying to shield kids completely isn’t realistic; focusing on a positive outcome is what matters.

Megan Fox is careful not to say negative things about her children’s father when she’s with them. As she explained on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2023, she believes that speaking badly about him would be like rejecting a part of her own children, since he’s an important part of who they are.

Brian shared a photo on Instagram of his kids enjoying a sunny day in Malibu, simply writing, “Great day!!”

Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), seen with his daughter Casie at the 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards, says his daughter played a key role in his journey to sobriety. He explained on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast that she noticed when he was using drugs, and that conversation was a turning point for him. Now sober since August 2023, MGK said he wants to be a better father than his own, and breaking the cycle of addiction for his daughter is incredibly important to him.

Sharna has expressed her gratitude to Brian’s children for giving her a preview of motherhood. Appearing on the Quite Frankly podcast in 2023, she explained, “I was able to practice being a mom with these kids.” She added that she learned valuable lessons about parenting and understanding children, which gave her confidence in her ability to be a good mother.

In 2020, Brian appeared as a contestant on the show The Masked Singer. He shared on Instagram that he was really looking forward to watching it with his kids, but unfortunately, they fell asleep after just 15 minutes.

No job is too big for the TV star and his mini-mes.

Brian had a vasectomy about two months after their son Zane was born, but he could potentially reverse the procedure later if they wanted. Sharna mentioned on the Oldish podcast in January that they would consider it, saying, “If we have the room and are able to, I definitely would.” However, with four young children, their lives are already incredibly full.

I was so thrilled to hear that Megan and Machine Gun Kelly had a baby girl on March 27, 2025! It’s amazing, but what really got me was hearing that MGK and his friends, including the incredible Travis Barker, actually wrote a special song just for her arrival. How sweet is that?

“She’s finally here,” MGK exclaimed in a post on Instagram, “our little celestial seed.”

In April 2025, Brian and Sharna had a fun time with Zion, Noah, Bodhi, and Journey, sharing treats and lots of laughs.

Shortly after welcoming his and Megan Fox’s new baby girl, Machine Gun Kelly made time to connect with his eldest daughter, Casie.
