A new Sky Original film, based on the popular crime novel ‘Blood on Snow’ by Jo Nesbø, is coming to the UK, according to the broadcaster.
Sky has bought the rights to the Benedict Cumberbatch film and plans to release it in theaters in 2027, though the specific date is yet to be announced.
The film has some interesting ties to the James Bond franchise. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who once auditioned to play 007, and Eva Green, known for her role in Casino Royale, both appear in the movie. Plus, Cary Fukunaga, the director of No Time to Die – Daniel Craig’s last Bond film – is directing this project.

The film also features talented actors Emma Laird, known for her roles in The Brutalist and 28 Years Later, and Ben Mendelsohn from the series Andor.
Norwegian author Jo Nesbø, known for his many books, adapted the screenplay from his own novel. He worked with Ben Power, a playwright and screenwriter, and Andrew Orr, Sky’s head of original film, praised the script as ‘exceptional.’
Orr noted that the actors’ strong performances really make this project special and a great addition to our lineup.

You can find the official synopsis for the film below:
When Hoffman shockingly orders the murder of his own wife, Olav finds himself torn between what’s right and his duty to obey. Instead of carrying out the order, Olav devises a plan that puts him in Hoffman’s crosshairs. With no one to trust, he’s forced into a dangerous partnership, thrusting him directly into the middle of Oslo’s violent gang conflict.
Olav used to be a ruthless criminal, but now he’s trying to be a good person – a difficult path in a world where kindness is rarely rewarded.
Blood on Snow will premiere in UK cinemas in 2027.
