A preview clip has been released for ‘Mint,’ the upcoming eight-episode BBC drama series created by Charlotte Regan, who also wrote and directed ‘Scrapper’.
The video features Emma Laird, from the show Mayor of Kingstown, and Ben Coyle-Larner, who many know as the musician Loyle Carner.
At a train station, Shannon and Arran spot each other on opposite sides of the tracks. As Shannon walks along the platform, Arran mirrors her movements. She playfully flips him off, first with one hand and then with both, and he responds in kind.

Mint is a story about intense love, devastating loss, and the challenges of finding connection when the world around you disapproves.
I’ve been following this show, and it’s really different. It’s about a crime family, but instead of focusing on the usual tough guys, it’s all about the women – the kids, their mum, and the grandma. It’s a story about what it’s really like to grow up around that life – the love, the tough times, the funny moments, and just how strange everything can be. And it’s about what happens when these women have to step up and take charge.
Last year, the show was filmed in and around Glasgow with a cast including Sam Riley, known for his role in Firebrand, Laura Fraser from Patience, Lewis Gribben of Black Mirror, and Lindsay Duncan who starred in Sherwood.

The first four episodes will debut at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) on February 15th. The full series will then air on BBC One and be available on BBC iPlayer sometime in spring 2026.

When the show was first announced, Regan explained that she’d been developing the world of ‘Mint’ in her mind for years. She described it as a passion project she couldn’t shake, and expressed her excitement about collaborating with the BBC to bring it to life. She’s eager to work with a talented team and create something truly magical for viewers.
Mint will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in spring 2026.
