Shiny Mareep Pokémon Legends: Z-A Guide

Shiny Pokémon are typically very rare, but you can actually *guarantee* getting a shiny Mareep! Similar to how *Pokémon Legends: Arceus* handled shiny Ponyta, this game lets all players obtain one through a set method, rather than relying on luck.

Shiny Mareep doesn’t have any special powers or different stats than regular Mareep – it’s all about how it looks! But collecting shiny Pokémon can be a lot of fun. If you have Pokémon Home and Mareep is available in the game, you can even transfer your shiny Mareep to other Pokémon games. This guide for *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* will show you how to find shiny Mareep quickly at the start of the game.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A A Shiny Mareep? Quest Walkthrough

You’ll unlock the “A Shiny Mareep?” side quest during the main story, specifically after reaching Rank V. To continue, you’ll need to battle Lisa, who has a Clauncher, Vanillite, and Staryu. Electric-type Pokémon are most effective against Clauncher and Vanillite, while a fire-type Pokémon will do well against Staryu. Winning this battle unlocks Side Mission 17, “A Shiny Mareep?”, in *Pokémon Legends: Z-A*.

To start a side quest, trainers should find Duve just outside the entrance to Wild Zone 1. He believes a shiny Mareep is nearby and asks for your help finding it. Head southwest from the entrance and climb the ladder you find there. At the top, you’ll discover the shiny Mareep, completing the quest and earning you $500 and three Pretty Feathers. This Mareep won’t attack, so it’s easy to catch – just make sure no other Pokémon are around when you throw your Poké Ball!

Mareep Abilities and Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Mareep is an Electric-type Pokémon that’s really helpful when you’re starting out in *Pokémon Legends: Z-A*. It does extra damage to Water-type Pokémon. Once Mareep reaches level 15, it evolves into Flaaffy, and at level 30, Flaaffy becomes Ampharos. Ampharos is one of the Pokémon you can find in *Legends: Z-A*, making it a great Pokémon to have on your team.

As a big Pokémon fan, I’m excited to hear that Mareep is confirmed as a shiny Pokémon you can find through a side quest in Legends: Z-A! But even better, it sounds like you can actually hunt for *all* the shiny Pokémon as you play the game. And if you really want to up your chances of finding them, completing Mabel’s Research will get you a Shiny Charm – that’s awesome!
