Pete Davidson is officially the king of tattoo removal.
The former Saturday Night Live cast member showcased his remarkable process of getting rid of his chest tattoos, as seen in a photograph featuring his pregnant girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, during their getaway.
In the Instagram photo posted by Elsie on August 29th, Pete is pictured with a playful smile, donning just a pair of goggles atop his head and a gold chain adorning his neck. Meanwhile, a model can be seen swimming gracefully in crystal-clear, blue water behind him.
The up-close photo was not just a delightful snapshot of the couple’s sunny escapades, but it also showed that Pete had no tattoos in the areas around his shoulders and collarbone, and the old designs on his chest, which included a skull, an animal, and a red quote, were visibly faded. This indicates they were presumably removed or covered up, as the couple recently announced they are expecting their first child together, due in July.
Regarding the remaining noticeable tattoos, there’s another design in crimson color that says “MOMTATTOO” on his left chest, along with an image of a ghost and a large shark.
Sure thing! Back in 2020, Pete embarked on the journey to eliminate over 200 tattoos from his body. He mentioned that there’s still quite a distance ahead for him before all of his tattoos are completely removed.
Last year, the individual aged 31 explained to Page Six about the exhausting procedures they had to endure, stating, “They remove layers of your skin, and I have to undergo this process about ten more times.” During these sessions, they added that they usually fall asleep which is comforting, but when it’s only an arm, they try to listen to music or engage the nurse in conversation.
And the process to get rid of the ink isn’t cheap, either.
He shared with Variety in April that the amount of money he needed to reveal was quite a strain, saying, “I’ve already invested around $200,000 and I’m only about 30% complete, so it’s going to be a significant financial challenge.
As an utterly devoted fan, I can’t help but express my awe at Pete’s words. Given his estimate, it seems he’s aiming for another decade to complete his work. In his own words, “My limbs, they’re practically gone – arms, hands, neck. But there’s still the torso and back left to conquer.
