Each year for eight consecutive years, Gary Lineker leads the BBC’s yearly tally of top earners and their remuneration.
Recently, Lineker, the host of Match of the Day, stepped down from his position at the BBC ahead of schedule due to a stir caused by some questionable posts on his social media account.
His salary for 2025 was between £1,350,000 and £1,354,999, unchanged from last year’s list.
In addition, Zoe Ball, who recently stepped down from her BBC role as host of the Radio 2 breakfast show, was among the highest earners, receiving a salary between £515,000 and £519,999. She parted ways with the show in December and now presents it on Saturday afternoons instead.
As a movie aficionado, I’d like to mention some other remarkable individuals gracing the top five list: Alan Shearer, the legendary football figure, takes the third spot. Greg James, the charismatic Radio 1 host, comes in fourth. Lastly, political correspondent Nick Robinson and newsreader/presenter Fiona Bruce share the fifth place.
Of course, it’s important to note that this compilation doesn’t cover every single presenter or actor featured on the BBC. Many of them work for BBC Studios, the BBC’s business division, which isn’t obligated to disclose the salaries of its talent members.

BBC Studios creates programs like The Graham Norton Show, hence his absence in the lineup, while several other BBC shows are jointly produced with international funding, including Industry and Doctor Who. Consequently, the main cast members for these productions would not be available either.
You can find the entire roster of the BBC’s top earners, along with their respective salaries for the year 2025, detailed below.
