For years, North American comics and Japanese manga have influenced each other. Now, Marvel is joining the trend by partnering with Weekly Shonen Jump to release some of its popular heroes in manga format. Deadpool is leading the charge, with his manga, Deadpool: Samurai, recently continuing with new installments. However, there’s some disappointing news for fans of this anime-inspired series.
Beginning next week with chapter 26, the Deadpool: Samurai manga is heading towards its conclusion. This might be unexpected for readers, especially since the series recently returned after a long break, with writer Sanshiro Kasama and artist Hikaru Uesugi placing Deadpool in a classic anime setting. The manga remains Marvelās most successful manga title, boosted by Deadpoolās enduring popularity and featuring both familiar and new versions of Marvel characters. While the final chapter details havenāt been released yet, fans should prepare for the series to end soon.
Whatās Going On With The Merc With a Manga?

The Deadpool: Samurai series has gained popularity not only for Deadpool’s own antics, but also because it features crossovers with different anime universes. A major highlight was the team-up between Deadpool and All Might from My Hero Academia against Thanos. Although Deadpool hasn’t yet interacted with other characters from Kohei Horikoshiās series, thereās a chance he will before the manga ends.
Recently, Deadpool stumbled into the world of Worldās End Harem, a manga where a virus wiped out most of the male population. He almost decided to stay and live there, but instead sent an alternate version of himself into the world. This version, called āWolverine-Pool,ā combined Deadpool and Wolverine, creating a powerful enemy for Deadpool himself. However, even with their combined healing abilities, Wolverine-Pool couldnāt survive the dangers of Worldās End Harem.
Whether Deadpool: Samurai will become an anime series or movie is still unknown. However, the story has enough content for either format. While Disney successfully experimented with anime through Star Wars: Visions, they havenāt yet done the same with Marvel. This manga could be a great opportunity to bring anime-style storytelling to the superhero universe. Marvel has produced anime adaptations before, featuring characters like Wolverine, Iron Man, and the X-Men, but itās been a long time since those aired.
The final story arc for Deadpool: Samurai starts later this month! Share your thoughts in the comments and discuss it with other fans in the ComicBook Forum.
