Jump Festa this year was packed with exciting anime announcements! We got updates on several popular series: My Hero Academia will have one more episode, Jujutsu Kaisen shared a new trailer for its third season, One Piece gave us a glimpse of the Straw Hat crew arriving at the island of Elbaph, and Chainsaw Man confirmed its return after the success of the Reze Arc movie. But it wasn’t just the biggest titles making news – fans of a certain classic ‘hitman’ series also had a lot to celebrate.
At Jump Festa, the anime Katekyo Hitman Reborn announced a special project to mark its twentieth anniversary. To celebrate, Studio Artland, the original animation studio, created new artwork of the main characters and hinted at exciting reveals coming in 2026. They also put together a collection of the series’ most memorable moments, offering both longtime fans a trip down memory lane and newcomers a chance to discover the world of Reborn. Throughout 2024, the official Katekyo Hitman Reborn YouTube channel will release daily shorts covering all 203 episodes. While a new anime series isn’t officially in the works, the anniversary celebration leaves the door open for anything to happen.
A Hitman Reborn

As a huge fan, I was so excited to see the 20th anniversary website bring back so many of the original voice actors! To start the celebrations, Neeko, the voice of Reborn, shared a really heartfelt message. They basically said ‘Happy 20th Anniversary!’ and thanked Amano-sensei for creating such a hopeful and inspiring series. It’s been twenty years since they first voiced Reborn, and they talked about all the amazing memories they’ve made with the character and the fans – it really feels like we’re all one big family! They ended by promising a huge celebration for the anniversary, and honestly, I can’t wait! It was just a really sweet message from someone who clearly loves the series as much as we do.
It was so cool to see Yukari Kokubun, the voice of Tsuna, celebrate too! She remembered talking about the ten-year bazooka back when the show started, and how they wondered what things would be like in ten or twenty years. She said it’s amazing it’s been twenty years already! She feels really connected to Reborn even now, thanks to all the fans who’ve loved the series. She gave a heartfelt thank you and promised to do her best to make the 20th anniversary something special, and wants us all to enjoy it together. It’s just awesome to see how much everyone still cares!
If Hitman Reborn were to get another season, it could adapt story arcs from the manga that weren’t included in the original anime. The anime finished airing in 2010 after more than 200 episodes, but the manga continued for another two years, concluding in 2012 thanks to its creator, Akira Amano. We’ll likely find out more details when the series celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2026.
