Shonen Jump Ditches the Big Threes for Something Greater in New Promo

In their latest promotional effort for digital subscriptions, Weekly Shonen Jump introduces a fresh take on their promotional image. Instead of the usual suspects like characters from Naruto, One Piece, or Bleach, or even the current Shonen Dark Trio (Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Hell’s Paradise), there are some brand new characters taking center stage. This fresh group is known as the “New Headliner Five” for Weekly Shonen Jump, instead of the traditional “Big Three.

Among the fresh faces leading various manga series in a popular magazine today are: Chihiro Rokuhira from the action-packed 2023 release “Kagurabachi”, Taro Sakamoto from “Sakamoto Days”, Chinatsu Kano from “Blue Box”, and Ichi from the rising hit “Ichi the Witch”. These characters are challenging the status quo as newcomers, yet they’re driving sales strongly and effectively representing the Shonen Jump brand.

It’s amazing to see that “One Piece” has endured through several generations of major series. As Shonen Jump moves into a new phase, “Blue Box” is rapidly catching up in terms of sales and ranking within the weekly magazine, even compared to Sakamoto in Japan. Along with some fresh faces for the brand, there’s also a new promotion for the manga magazine subscription. This includes additional benefits such as an opportunity to receive a Shonen Jump acrylic keychain, stickers, and a mini plush toy of one of these new characters. The lucky 3,000 subscribers selected via lottery will get this limited gift. However, there is a reader fee and the Jump+ browser version is not included in this offer.
