What Is the Plot of Witch Watch?
This fantasy series is packed with classic creatures like witches, ogres, vampires, and werewolves – and plenty of surprises! The story follows Morihito Otogi, a high school student who secretly hides his ogre identity. He endured bullying as a child, but always refused to fight back, fearing his immense power would seriously injure others. Things change when he discovers his childhood friend, Nico Wakatsuki – a young witch – has returned after years of intense training in a sacred land.
Morihito was surprised to discover his parents had arranged for him to live with Nico, and expected him to become her familiar – a magical companion. While ogres were once common familiars in the past, it’s unusual now. At first, Morihito wasn’t keen on the idea, but he agreed when he found out Nico was in serious trouble.
The story follows Nico and Morihito as they encounter a variety of interesting creatures, many of whom end up living with them while helping to keep Nico safe. The anime has 25 episodes split into two parts and is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
