Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has many new anime series planned for release throughout the year, and the latest action series just revealed some exciting previews before its Spring debut. While several major Shonen Jump franchises will return with new seasons through 2026, there are also plenty of brand new anime series on the way – including one that will premiere shortly after its manga concludes.
Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s Kill Blue finished its initial run in Shonen Jump last summer, and fans were excited to learn it would be adapted into an anime. With the anime’s debut scheduled for Spring 2026, new teaser trailers showcasing the opening and ending theme songs have been released ahead of its April premiere. You can watch them below.
When Does the Kill Blue Anime Come Out?
I’m so excited for Kill Blue! It’s currently planned to premiere in April 2026, though we’re still waiting on a specific date. But the latest news is fantastic – aespa will be performing the opening theme, which is called “ATTITUDE,” and RIIZE will handle the ending with a song titled “KILL SHOT”! Hiro Kaburagi, who I loved on Great Pretender and Kimi ni Todoke, is directing, and Miho Daidoji (known for her work on Kuroko’s Basketball and Kimi ni Todoke 3rd Season) is in charge of character designs. It’s shaping up to be amazing!
The voice cast for the upcoming anime Kill Blue has been announced! Shunsuke Takeuchi will voice the adult Juzo Ogami, while Yuko Sanpei will play his younger self. Other cast members include Fuka Izumi as Noren Mitsuoka, Shuichiro Umeda as Kotatsu Nekota, Takeo Otsuka as Tenma Tendo, Atsumi Tanezaki as Chisato Shiraishi, and Yumi Uchiyama as Eri Wanibuchi. This spring, viewers can expect a comedic and action-packed series about a skilled assassin who finds themselves back in school.
Kill Blue Creator Hypes New Anime
While not as widely known as some other titles from Shonen Jump, the creator of Kill Blue, Tadatoshi Fujimaki, recently shared his excitement about the upcoming anime adaptation. He jokingly said, “Finally—after all this time—Kill Blue is becoming an anime!” He admitted that saying ‘at long last’ might be a little dramatic, but expressed his enthusiasm for the new series.
“I think this feels just right in terms of tone,” the creator said. “KILL BLUE was always intended to be a fun, easy story. It’s not going to be scary or intense – there are no supernatural creatures or anything like that. But I want to emphasize that just because something seems light and enjoyable doesn’t mean it was easy to create. This incredible team and cast poured their hearts into it.”
