2P Games and NEKCOM Games have announced that their game, Showa American Story – a unique blend of post-apocalyptic romance and alternate history – will now launch in 2026 instead of 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam.
Here is the full message from NEKCOM Games executive producer Xy Luo on the delay:
As we get closer to finishing development, we’ve decided to make a few changes to our release plan to make sure the final product is as good as it can be.
The release window of Showa American Story has been moved from 2025 to 2026.
We’ve been incredibly inspired by the amazing response to Showa American Story from players worldwide. We’re very sorry for the delay and truly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support.
I understand this isn’t the update you wanted to hear, and I sincerely apologize for the continued delay. This extra time will help us make Showa American Story the best it can be and deliver a product we’re proud of.
The entire team at NEKCOM is working hard to make sure Showa American Story has a successful launch.
