The highly praised and commercially successful remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team might be coming to Xbox consoles soon.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which rates games for age and content in the US, Canada, and Mexico, recently listed a rating for Silent Hill 2 on the Xbox Series X|S on their website. This suggests the game may be coming to these platforms.

As a big tech and gaming fan, I was really excited to see the ESRB rate the Silent Hill 2 remake for Xbox Series X|S! Right now, it’s only available on PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam, so this could mean Xbox players might finally get a chance to experience it. We’ve seen PlayStation exclusives make their way to Xbox before, so it’s definitely a promising sign!
The adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits first became available in 2021 for PlayStation 5 and PC through the Epic Games Store. It was later released on Steam in 2022. In April 2024, it received a rating for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and officially launched on those consoles on August 15, 2024.
As a huge gaming fan, I’m getting really excited because it looks like Silent Hill 2 is probably coming to Xbox! It might even happen relatively soon – we’re potentially talking just a few months from now. Fingers crossed!
Xbox fans may soon get a taste of the melancholy horror and beauty of the Silent Hill 2 Remake

Silent Hill has been enjoying a well-deserved revival this past year.
The Silent Hill 2 remake was a success, selling 2.5 million copies, and its surprise follow-up, Silent Hill f, also performed very well with over a million copies sold.
We highly recommend the Xbox version of Silent Hill f, giving it a 4.5 out of 5 star rating. It successfully revives the terrifying feeling of the original games while also offering a compelling and scary story, a deeply unsettling atmosphere, and satisfying combat.
A Silent Hill 2 remake for Xbox would be a fantastic Halloween surprise! Right now, the only way to play it on Xbox consoles is through the older Silent Hill HD Collection.
The remastered version of Silent Hill 2, known as the Silent Hill HD Collection, was quite controversial when it came out.
The game kept the classic gameplay and music fans loved, but it significantly reduced the thick fog and dim lighting that were hallmarks of the original Silent Hill.
Additionally, the remastered HD collection upset many fans by replacing the original voice actors. Some particularly missed the unique, though somewhat awkward, creepiness of the voice acting in the original PlayStation 2 version.
Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 significantly updates the original, with changes including overhauled combat and boss battles, a completely new voice cast, a third-person camera perspective, and revised dialogue.
Despite its flaws, the game excelled where it counted. It stayed true to the heartbreaking story of the original Silent Hill 2 and featured significantly improved graphics. Importantly, it captured the series’ signature dark, foggy, and gritty atmosphere far better than the HD Collection did.
I’m really hoping the Silent Hill 2 remake is released on Xbox. It’s the perfect way to play what many consider one of the greatest horror games ever made.
Besides finding a used PlayStation 2 or original Xbox on eBay, along with a working copy of the original Silent Hill 2 for those consoles, it remains a truly classic game that’s still enjoyable today.
