Silent Hill 2 Remake is coming to Xbox, with evidence now reaching fever pitch.
Silent Hill 2 is a highly acclaimed survival horror game made by Konami. Originally released for the PlayStation 2, it tells the story of James as he ventures into the eerie and haunted town of Silent Hill, searching for the meaning behind a disturbing letter he received… from his wife, who is no longer alive.
Silent Hill 2 is widely celebrated for its immersive atmosphere and deep psychological storytelling, making it a truly iconic game. Last year, Konami partnered with Bloober Team to create a complete remake, which surprisingly impressed many fans, including myself, despite initial doubts. However, the remake was initially only available on PlayStation 5 and PC. Now, an Xbox version has finally been announced.
True Achievements, a website dedicated to Xbox news and the tracking of game achievements, recently found a listing for the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Because the site has special access to Xbox’s systems to manage its achievement lists and community features, it occasionally uncovers information about games that haven’t been officially announced yet.

According to True Achievements, the remake of Silent Hill 2 is currently listed with a release date of November 21, 2025. A Deluxe Edition including digital artwork and the game’s soundtrack will also be available. While the game appears to be coming to both PC and Xbox consoles through the Microsoft Store, it doesn’t currently have the ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’ feature. This listing may not be final, however, as Silent Hill F did support Play Anywhere, so it’s likely this remake will too.
I’ve been testing Silent Hill 2 on the Xbox Ally, and unfortunately, it’s currently unplayable. It seems there’s a problem with how the game’s lighting works – specifically, with Unreal Engine’s Lumen feature – on the Ally’s AMD Z2E processor. Hopefully, AMD and the Unreal Engine team are aware and working on a fix before the game officially releases.
As an analyst, I’ve been tracking the increasing signs that Silent Hill 2 is coming to Xbox. Over the past few months, we’ve seen a previous ESRB rating surface, and updates to the game’s website that seem to be preparing space for Xbox and Nintendo Switch branding. It’s worth remembering that PlayStation initially had a year of console exclusivity for the title.
But, could this Silent Hill 2 store listing reveal more than just the game itself?
Did Xbox leak its own November Partner Preview event date? 🤔

A few weeks ago, I mentioned Microsoft is planning an Xbox Partner Preview event in November to showcase games from its partners. I’ve also learned the event will likely focus on Xbox Play Anywhere titles, highlighting games compatible with the Xbox Ally and the broader Xbox PC gaming experience.
With Silent Hill 2 scheduled to release on November 21st, many believe the Xbox Partner Preview event will happen around the same time. It’s logical that Xbox would want to showcase the game to a large audience before it launches, likely streaming the event on their official social media platforms. We probably won’t have to wait much longer to get confirmation.
