Bloober Team, the developers behind the upcoming remake of the original *Silent Hill*, may also be expanding the availability of last year’s *Silent Hill 2* remake. Originally launched on PC and PlayStation 5, the game’s official website now appears to have space for listings of additional platforms, as spotted by a Reddit user.
The game is currently available for purchase on Steam and PlayStation 5. Recently discovered code on the game’s website suggests that a remake of *Silent Hill 2* could also be released on Xbox Series X/S and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. However, neither the developer, Bloober Team, nor Konami have officially confirmed these plans.
Bloober Team has started working on a remake of the original *Silent Hill* and also has several other games in development. In a recent meeting with investors, they explained that they have two teams: one dedicated to *Silent Hill*, and another working on a large, new game, plus four smaller projects.
Following the release of our horror game *Cronos: The New Dawn*, we’re excited to share updates on our development pipeline. We have two internal teams currently working on projects: one is rebuilding *Silent Hill 1*, and the other has begun work on a new, unannounced game. In addition, we’re working with five external development teams on separate projects.
Konami officially announced in June that Bloober Team is developing the remake of *Silent Hill*. Although specific details haven’t been released yet, the announcement included a short video with music very closely resembling the iconic theme song from the original game.
The new *Silent Hill* remake is likely part of a bigger strategy by Konami to revitalize the series, similar to what Capcom has done with *Resident Evil*. Capcom has successfully alternated releasing new *Resident Evil* games with remakes of older titles. For example, *Resident Evil 7* was followed by remakes of *Resident Evil 2* and *3*, then *Resident Evil Village*, and most recently, the *Resident Evil 4* remake. Konami appears to be following this same pattern for *Silent Hill*.
Recently, two new *Silent Hill* games have been released: a remake of *Silent Hill 2* last year and a completely new installment, *Silent Hill f*, this year. If Konami decides to remake *Silent Hill 3* in the future, they’ll also need to update the very first *Silent Hill* game, as *Silent Hill 3* continues its story.
The game *Silent Hill f* came out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S just last month. You can find a full review on our site if you’d like to learn more.
