Recent changes to the website for the *Silent Hill 2* remake suggest that ports for other platforms could be coming. A new rumor, shared by AestheticGamer, claims Konami and Bloober Team are planning to announce these ports after the *Return to Silent Hill* movie is released. The rumor also hints that news about the *Born From a Wish* DLC might be revealed around the same time.
Recent updates to the *Silent Hill 2* remake website initially suggested potential ports for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. However, a new report indicates the added space is more likely intended to accommodate an upgrade for the PlayStation 5 Pro version of the game.
AestheticGamer believes Bloober Team is about to announce the Xbox versions of the *Silent Hill 2* Remake. They also suggest a patch for the PlayStation 5 Pro will likely be revealed around the same time as these announcements, and that the *Born From a Wish* DLC is coming soon. It seems Konami is planning all of this to coincide with the release of the upcoming *Return to Silent Hill* movie, which is based on *Silent Hill 2*.
The *Silent Hill 2* remake came out on PC and PlayStation 5 last year and was a hit for Bloober Team. Because of this success, Konami has asked them to remake the very first *Silent Hill* game. Bloober Team recently announced that work on that remake has officially started during a meeting with investors.
As a big fan, I was so excited to hear what Bloober Team is up to next! They just confirmed they have two internal teams working on games. One team is actually remaking the original *Silent Hill*, which is incredible news! And the other team has already started a brand new project. On top of that, they’re also working with other developers on five more games as a publisher. It sounds like they have a lot on their plate, but it’s all really promising after the release of *Cronos: The New Dawn*.
Both the original and the remake of *Silent Hill 2* follow James Sutherland, who travels to the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter seemingly from his deceased wife. During his journey, he encounters several unusual people, including a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his wife. Since its release on the PlayStation 2 in 2001, *Silent Hill 2* has been widely considered a masterpiece of the horror genre, celebrated for its unsettling atmosphere, deliberate pacing, and frightening environment.
As a big fan, I was so thrilled to hear about the *Silent Hill 2* remake! The original is a masterpiece, but it never really got the HD treatment it deserved. The closest we got was a version for PS3 and Xbox 360, and honestly, it was pretty disappointing. They took out a lot of what made the game so special, like the iconic, thick fog that created such a creepy atmosphere. This remake feels like a chance to finally experience the game as it was truly meant to be.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake is expected to receive a PS5 Pro patch alongside some new announcements. We’ll probably hear about the “Born From a Wish” DLC soon, and it seems Konami is planning to release information about it around the time of the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie, which is based on the original Silent Hill 2.
