Silent Hill f‘s Ebisugaoka Middle School is full of challenging puzzles, traps, and secrets. The Secret Box puzzle in the Classroom is particularly difficult. This guide provides solutions for every difficulty level, so you can overcome this obstacle no matter how you’re playing.

How to find the Secret Box Puzzle

Only one classroom on the 2nd floor is accessible, and once inside, you’ll be locked in until you figure out the Secret Box puzzle.

You’ll find an unopened envelope beside the box. Be sure to read it first – it contains hints to help you open the secret box.

The Secret Box is a puzzle with three parts. Each time you solve a part, you’ll get a new clue inside an unopened envelope. Once you’ve solved all three, you’ll receive the key to the Second Floor Generic Classroom and be able to continue the story and escape.

Story Difficulty

In this challenge, you can only move the white tiles. Your goal is to rotate them until all the symbols that match the given clue are facing up.

You’ll receive three clues, each inside an envelope. The first is “sweet fruits”, the second is “journals”, and the third is “Sakura”.

1st Stage

Reveal the cherry and strawberry. The cherry is on one side and the strawberry is on the other.


2nd Stage

Reveal 3 books. There are 2 books on one side and 1 on the other.


3rd Stage

You will only reveal one tile: a cherry blossom branch.

Hard Difficulty

Okay, so in this mode, it’s all about the brown tiles – those are the only ones I can move. But here’s the cool part: they’re double-sided! It means instead of just shifting one big tile at a time, I can actually move two tiles in a row, which makes things way more interesting.

The envelopes don’t have any words marked, but the important terms are sweet and tart fruit, a journal, and sakura blossoms in full bloom.

1st Stage

You’ll find an apple, cherry, and orange on one side, and a strawberry, pineapple, and grapes on the other.


2nd Stage

There are 4 books. There will be one book on one side and three on the other.


3rd Stage

There are three Sakura branches. One is on one side and two are on the other.


Lost in the Fog Difficulty

In Lost in the Fog mode, every tile and slat is available to move. Making it a bit more difficult.

The keywords for this mode will be: sweet and tart fruit, journal, and sakura in full bloom.

1st Stage

This level features six tiles. One side of the box shows a cherry, berries, a strawberry, and a pineapple. The other side displays an orange and an apple.


2nd Stage

Okay, so there are five books here, but it’s a bit uneven. Four of them are grouped together on one side of the stage, and then there’s just one lonely book all by itself on the other side. It’s a weird setup, honestly.


3rd Stage

There are 4 cherry blossom tiles. There are 3 on one side of the box and 1 on the other.
