Konami has announced that Silent Hill F has surpassed one million copies sold. This indicates it’s performing significantly better commercially than the PS5 remake of Silent Hill 2 from last year.
The highly-regarded game from Bloober Team reached one million copies sold in a week, but Silent Hill F is now selling even quicker worldwide, including in Japan, according to the publisher. It’s already exceeded one million units sold after only one day of being fully released.
As of January 2025, the latest figures showed that two million copies of Silent Hill 2 had been sold, just three months after its release. Based on how well it’s currently doing, it looks like Silent Hill F will easily outsell the remake.
Certainly, where each game is available is also a factor: Silent Hill 2 is currently only released on PlayStation 5 and PC, whereas Silent Hill F is launching on multiple platforms.
A press release stated with pride: “This success solidifies the series’ place as a classic horror franchise, still captivating fans who crave a disturbing and mind-bending horror experience.” Regarding future installments in the survival horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall is the only game left from the initial group announced in 2022.
In our Silent Hill F PS5 review, we gave the game a 7/10, stating: “It’s noticeably different, and longtime fans will need to be open to that change. The game puts a lot of emphasis on fighting, and setting it in Japan brings a new feel and atmosphere. Ignoring the technical issues, this feels like a brave new direction for the Silent Hill series. If you approach it with an open mind, you’ll find it’s one of the most gripping experiences on PS5.”
