Horror game fans, especially those who enjoy the Silent Hill series, should watch out for a new game coming soon. 2026 is already looking like a great year for horror, with confirmed titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Reanimal, Hellraiser: Revival, and Halloween: The Game all scheduled to release. And there are likely even more unannounced horror games on the way! But if you’re looking for a hidden gem to play in the meantime, keep an eye on one game launching in March – it’s definitely worth checking out.
Fyre Games just announced that Project Songbird will be released on March 26th, along with a new trailer. First shown in 2024, Project Songbird is a story-driven psychological horror game from the creators of Summerland and We Never Left. Players take on the role of Dakota, a musician who retreats to the forest to find inspiration. However, as strange and frightening creatures appear, Dakota must fight to survive the growing nightmare.
Deep in the Appalachian forest, the game Project Songbird tells a strange and unsettling story about the challenges of being creative. You play as Dakota, a musician struggling with writer’s block who retreats to a secluded cabin to work on a new album. While searching for inspiration, Dakota discovers a hidden darkness – and learns that not all muses are helpful.
Silent Hill’s Influence Is Clearly Seen
Project Songbird clearly draws inspiration from many horror games, but it especially feels like a Silent Hill successor. It shares key features with the Silent Hill series, like unsettling environments and a story centered around a lone character. Even the glimpses of monsters in the trailer are reminiscent of those from Konami’s classic horror games. Because of these similarities, fans of Silent Hill should definitely keep an eye on Project Songbird when it’s released.
Just a reminder that Project Songbird will be released on March 26th. You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
