I keep having vivid dreams about that town…was it Scottish? We’ll all be visiting it soon enough, though, because Silent Hill: Townfall is coming out on September 24th for PlayStation 5 and PC. You can watch the new trailer below.
The game begins with Simon Ordell exploring the town of St. Amelia when he receives a message from a voice he knows – Zoe. However, he quickly finds himself running from frightening monsters, and based on the game’s rating, they’re extremely dangerous.
Simon has come to town with a mysterious goal: to “set things right.” To succeed – and survive – he’ll have to investigate the history of St. Amelia and find crucial clues. While you can fight enemies with weapons like axes and guns, it’s also smart to use stealth, sneak past them, or create diversions using the radio and other objects around you. (And yes, that last part was a bit of a play on words!)
This new game is one of the most ambitious projects Annapurna Interactive has taken on. The developers at Screenburn Interactive say it will be a complete, polished experience. It’s still unclear if it will reach the same level as highly anticipated titles like Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f, but so far, it’s definitely caught our attention.
