Despite a nearly three-year long silence following its initial reveal, the active development of Silent Hill: Townfall is continuing, as confirmed by its recently named developer today.
As a passionate gamer, I’m excited to share that the game studio behind hit titles like Observation and Stories Untold, previously known as No Code, has decided to rebrand itself as Screen Burn. This change comes after the addition of coding talent to our team, reflecting who we are in 2025 – a dynamic group dedicated to crafting immersive gaming experiences that truly burn their way into your screen!
As a nod to our nostalgic roots, we’re like vintage analog TVs or 3.5″ disk drives – imperfect yet endearing. Our games, they linger, long after the final credits fade away. Just like an old arcade machine with its UI etched onto the screen forever, our games stay with you. And now, we’ve evolved from No Code to SCREEN BURN, embodying this timeless essence even more profoundly.

In the course of the latest update, the team discussed Silent Hill: Townfall, confirming that they are indeed continuing their work on it. They’ve been eager to disclose more information about it and, although progress is being made, they remind us that they are a small group working on a substantial project. Rest assured, they will join us again soon and express gratitude for your understanding and patience.
In October 2022, the announcement was made for Silent Hill: Townfall, along with Silent Hill 2 and an upcoming version called Silent Hill F (which is set to launch on PlayStation 5 in September). Moreover, it’s officially confirmed that a complete remake of the original Silent Hill game from the PlayStation 1 era is now in the works.
