Nancy explained on the January 2nd episode of Toon’d In with Jim Cummings that they aren’t related by blood. Her father was her father’s stepbrother, because her grandmother married her dad.
As family, Nancy fully supported Sabrina’s ambitions and encouraged her from a young age.
I first met her when she was eight years old. Her parents brought her and her two sisters to my house, and they stayed with us because she was determined to work for Disney. She’d been saying she wanted a Disney career since she was a little girl, around six years old.
Nancy believed Sabrina had real potential as a singer and actress, saying she “could really make it.” To support her, Nancy hosted Sabrina and her team for months each year during pilot season, providing a place for them to stay and helping her find a manager and agent.
The voice actress helped the Grammy-winning artist early in her career, and is now up for six more awards, including Album of the Year. However, she has no intention of claiming any credit for the artist’s success.
Nancy explained that the young performer was clearly very capable and talented. She believes this girl sings, dances, and writes, and predicts she’ll one day win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award – an EGOT.

He said she’s incredibly capable and doesn’t require his assistance. He simply offered some initial support, and she’s been succeeding on her own ever since, which makes him very proud.
Nancy concluded, “Look at her now. She’s just flying.”
