Sims 4 Confirms Incoming Fix for Widespread Pregnancy Glitches & More

*The Sims 4* recently received a substantial update, featuring an upgraded inventory system and more. However, much like other major updates for life simulation games, this one also came with some unexpected side effects. A short while after the free base game update was released, players began reporting several issues concerning pregnancy in *The Sims 4*. Now, EA has acknowledged that a solution for these problems, along with other newly discovered bugs, is being developed. The initial batch of fixes is expected to be rolled out simultaneously with the release of the new *Enchanted by Nature* expansion pack.

It’s common knowledge that The Sims series has a devoted fanbase, known as Simmers. However, they are well-versed in the fact that these games often harbor bothersome bugs. While some can be amusing, many are irritating and at times, disruptive to gameplay. It’s unfortunate that most updates bring new bugs while attempting to address existing ones. This is particularly noticeable among players who heavily use mods with The Sims 4.

Even the standard, unmodified version of The Sims 4 (vanilla) has been experiencing issues related to pregnancy following the July 1st update.

In the EA forums, there’s been an overflow of users reporting issues with pregnancy bugs in The Sims 4 following the latest update. Luckily, the developers have acknowledged these problems. Unlike other persistent concerns, they are working diligently to swiftly fix this glitch. As per a recent post on the official The Sims Discord channel run by EA, they are currently investigating issues surrounding Sim pregnancies.

Although they haven’t managed to solve this specific problem as of now, two other bugs will be addressed with the July 10th update together with the release of the new Enchanted By Nature expansion pack. The confirmed fixes are aimed at resolving drag & drop troubles during cleaning and the annoying issue where the hobby board vanishes. At this point, it’s uncertain whether the pregnant Sim glitches will also be tackled in time for the Enchanted by Nature release. However, we can confirm that Electronic Arts are actively investigating a solution for these issues.

Confirmed Pregnant Sim Bugs with the Latest Sims 4 Update

If you’ve been having trouble with your 100 Baby Challenge in The Sims 4 following the latest update, know that you’re not facing these issues alone. Reports from EA Forums suggest that there are several new problems related to pregnant Sims, and Electronic Arts (EA) is currently looking into them. Here’s a list of confirmed bugs with repairs underway. Take a look to see if the problems you’ve encountered are already being addressed or if it’s time for you to submit your own bug report for The Sims 4.

Pregnancy Tests Unavailable

In numerous instances, players of this game are finding that the ability to perform a pregnancy test following an attempt to conceive is mysteriously absent from their screen. It appears this glitch affects both players who don’t modify their games and those who do.

Baby Bump Not Showing

A present concern is that in the game, Sims who are pregnant do not visibly show a baby bump. Although Sims are still biologically pregnant within the game, they don’t physically appear to be so, which can be disappointing for those who prefer realistic and engaging gameplay when playing through family-oriented scenarios.

Unable to Try for Baby

It could be very inconvenient indeed, as the “Trying for a Baby” feature seems to have disappeared from the game interface for some players. This makes it rather challenging for Sim characters to conceive naturally, unless they resort to using the more technical method of artificial insemination instead.

The investigation is ongoing regarding three pregnancy-related issues in The Sims 4 following the July 1st update. If you’re encountering a fresh problem related to pregnancy within The Sims 4, you can submit a bug report through the EA Forums. Since these bugs are currently being looked into, a solution should ideally be forthcoming, perhaps even with the upcoming fixes for the July 10th release of Enchanted by Nature.
