The upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday” is generating significant excitement, with fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see such a large ensemble of heroes engage in interaction. At present, filming is underway in London, and a recently released photograph showcases James Marsden and Simu Liu as they prepare for their roles by working out together. This image hints at their imposing physiques, suggesting they are gearing up to challenge Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal of Doctor Doom.

Actor James Marsden is all set to return as Scott Summers, or Cyclops, in the upcoming movie “Doomsday,” alongside several original X-Men actors since his brief appearance in “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” back in 2014. With filming ongoing in London, he recently played a friendly game of padel with Simu Liu, who starred as Shang-Chi. Here’s a photo featuring the two stars from “Avengers: Doomsday”:

It’s clear that Marsden and Liu are ready to take on any role, as they resemble muscular Marvel actors! They were pictured with Dr. Ethan-Ira Mamuric, a physical therapist, and padel player Eloise Tait, engaging in the sport within an indoor court. It seems that for these “Doomsday” stars, padel might have been their exercise routine amidst their busy schedule of saving the multiverse!

Since April 28, “Doomsday” has been shooting scenes at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. Additionally, it’s rumored that Marvel is investing heavily to film at Windsor Great Park near Surrey too. It turned out to be quite convenient for the cast to visit and watch a screening of “Thunderbolts*” as a fun team-building event. Among the cast members are Liu, Marsden, the new Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts squad, and established characters like Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Letitia Wright’s Black Panther, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.

For the first time outside of a few brief appearances, such as in Deadpool vs. Wolverine and some cameos, the X-Men will make a full return to the MCU. This lineup includes Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Excitement among fans is running high as they envision these characters making their grand entrance in the upcoming film!

Originally, the release date for “Avengers: Doomsday” was planned for the following summer. However, Marvel recently moved it to December 2026, making it release alongside the third “Dune” movie. The Russo Brothers have mentioned that they will film “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” almost consecutively, but there will be a significant gap between films for the actors compared to the four-week break between “Infinity War” and “Endgame. ” “Secret Wars” is scheduled for release in December 2027.

Well, spotting James Marsden and Simu Liu in top shape together has me pondering if Cyclops and Shang-Chi might form a friendship during the forthcoming Avengers films. After all, who wouldn’t want to see these two superheroes team up?
