Developer One More Level, known for the Ghostrunner series, and publisher Lyrical Games have revealed their upcoming title, Valor Mortis. This single-player game blends intense, strategic combat with Metroidvania-style level designs, all wrapped in a gripping narrative steeped in horror, corruption, temptation, and intrigue. Expected to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam in the year 2026, Valor Mortis promises an immersive experience for gamers who appreciate a challenge.
In a press statement, One More Level CEO Szymon Bryla expressed their ambition to explore novel and distinctive concepts with Valor Mortis, aiming to deliver a more intense and gloomy gaming experience while maintaining a high level of challenge. Following the success of Ghostrunner, they decided to build on that foundation to create a first-person perspective game, but this time in the Soulslike genre. Simultaneously, they wanted to remain faithful to their core competency, which is crafting challenging games set in immersive, expansive worlds. Valor Mortis represents a unique, innovative take on the Soulslike genre that the team is eager for gamers to experience.
