Lady Wilnelia Forsyth, Bruce Forsyth’s wife, has given a peek into her personal life and admitted that she is receptive to the idea of falling in love once more, following the heartbreaking passing of her cherished spouse, which happened eight years ago.
Lady Forsyth, 67 years old, had been married to the renowned entertainer for 34 years before he passed away at the age of 89 in 2017, after a long struggle against bronchial pneumonia.
At the Caudwell Children’s 25th Butterfly Ball held at The Dorchester Hotel in the heart of London last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of having an exclusive conversation with her. Accompanying us was their son, Jonathan, a man of 38 years.
In this version, “She” is replaced by “I had the pleasure of having an exclusive conversation with her,” and the first person is used to convey the narrative.
On the red carpet looking splendid, Wilnelia admitted that currently, no one was particularly significant in her life, but she remained open to such possibilities.
Indeed, I do socialize and have friends, I enjoy going out. At the moment, I don’t have anyone particular in my life, but who knows what the future holds?
After enduring her sorrow in the following nights, the ex-Miss World took time to honor and acknowledge her son, along with Bruce’s five daughters from his previous unions, for their comforting presence during this difficult time.

Life continues, yet I’m enveloped in an abundance of love, with my cherished family all around me. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be blessed with such stunning stepdaughters, and our son, dear Jonathan, who stands as a pillar of support for me.
As a passionate advocate, I’ve got my hands full balancing my daily life while dedicating myself to a noble cause – an organization aimed at supporting caregivers battling Alzheimer’s disease in Puerto Rico. It’s a labor of love that keeps me quite occupied.
Wilnelia likewise discussed the approaching eighth anniversary of Bruce’s passing, mentioning that she intends to honor the event by organizing a charity golf tournament in the village of Wentworth, a place where they both resided.
Last Sunday, I celebrated a delightful birthday with one of Bruce’s eldest daughters in our home. Interestingly, it wasn’t her actual birthday until Monday, but everyone managed to gather for the occasion, making it truly special. We spent the time reminiscing and discussing an upcoming milestone in Bruce’s life – his anniversary.
After their initial meeting at the 1980 Miss World contest event held in London, Wilnelia and Bruce began cohabiting in Surrey.
After getting married to the host of Strictly in 1983, she chose to step away from modeling. Until 2016, she was the sole Puerto Rican to have been crowned Miss World.
In August 2017, her spouse tragically lost his life at the age of 89, in the comfort of their home, and was accompanied by his loved ones during his valiant struggle against bronchial pneumonia.
A year following his passing, it was disclosed that not a single item in their house had been disturbed since he departed. The books, decorative pieces, and family photos remained undisturbed in their original places.

In 2018, Wilnelia openly discussed her husband’s passing during an honest interview with The Mail On Sunday. She shared that they continue to have daily conversations posthumously.
She said: ‘Sometimes it feels like yesterday. I can’t believe it’s been a year.
In the bustle of London just yesterday, I found myself hurrying with thoughts of getting back home. Yet, it suddenly struck me, why the haste?
I strive to keep up a strong front for our family, yet I must confess that it hasn’t been an effortless journey. Every day, I find myself missing Bruce deeply. In many ways, he served as a guide and mentor to me.
He possessed a vast amount of knowledge on all topics and was incredibly approachable, making conversations flow effortlessly. There wasn’t a subject I couldn’t discuss with him.
We frequently communicate with each other, yet it’s been a while since we exchanged joyful and upsetting news. I long to catch up on all the positive developments and challenges that have occurred.
Also in 2018, lady Wilnelia spoke of her joy at marrying the iconic entertainer.
On ITV’s This Morning, she enthusiastically confessed, “I was incredibly fortunate to be his wife for 34 years. Our marriage was extremely joyful.

She expressed gratitude for having created unique, cherished moments with Bruce prior to his passing.
‘He retired from Strictly, and he didn’t manage to do the last show; the Christmas show,’ she said.
He had plans for some traveling and also wanted to stay involved in the entertainment industry. His desire was to spend time with his loved ones.
Bruce was married three times: to Penny Calvert for 20 years, where they had children Debbie, Julie, and Laura; to Anthea Redfern, who became the mothers of Charlotte and Louisa; and to Wilnelia, with whom he had a child named Jonathan Joseph ‘JJ’ Forsyth-Johnson.
