Sister Wives Trailer: Robyn Feels Like an "Idiot" as Kody's Last Wife

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in following reality TV families, I must say that the Brown family’s story is nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The latest season of Sister Wives promises more drama than ever before, and as a long-time observer, I can’t help but feel a mix of sympathy and amusement for these individuals who have chosen to share their lives so publicly.

The Brown family is back and more divided than ever.

In the debut trailer for season 19 of “Sister Wives,” airing September 15 on TLC, Kody Brown experiences disagreements not only with his former wives but also with his current spouse, Robyn Brown.

As an overly devoted admirer, I find myself grappling with a sense of waning admiration towards my beloved. In response to my concerns, he retorts, “Dear one, I’m currently struggling to reciprocate your sentiments in the manner you desire.”

In her poignant reflection, Robyn, who is now the sole partner remaining in what was once a plural marriage following Kody’s separations from his exes, Janelle, Christine, and Meri, expresses a sad sentiment: “I feel like the one who was left behind.”

Certainly, a man who’s the father of 18 children is still mourning over his unsuccessful relationships, expressing frustration with a question like, “What on earth have I done to end up here? Where did I go wrong?”

In 2021, Christine was the one who terminated her spiritual union with Kody first. Now, she shares her new romance with David Woolley with the viewers, having a heart-to-heart conversation with him in a private interview.

In October 2023, Christine wed David. Not just her, but the entire family will be spending time with her new partner, as suggested by the upcoming season’s preview. Filmed primarily in early to mid-2023, the season captures the crew gathering for a party. During this event, both Kody and some of Christine’s other sister wives encounter David.

In a recent update, Janelle, who parted ways with Kody in 2022, conveyed to Christine that her relationship with Kody is now formally over, as they both agree that things aren’t functioning anymore.

The primary concern for this woman with six children revolves around their land at Coyote Pass, an area initially intended for constructing dwellings.

“Janelle confesses that she’s considered proposing the idea of him purchasing her share,” she says regarding Kody. “However, since there’s still a debt to settle and he’s been unresponsive on the matter, I believe I might need to consult with a legal professional.”

Following their official separation in early 2023, the fallout from Kody and his first wife, Meri, who have been estranged for a while, is still unfolding as events following their split continue to play out, as revealed in the final episode of last season.

“It’s not divorce that sucks,” Kody tells her. “It’s marrying the wrong person.”

Of course, Meri finds this quite upsetting, expressing her feelings during a private interview, “It’s really tough to discover you’ve married the wrong person after all these years, and not have had the courtesy to inform me sooner.”

In keeping with his character, Kody avoids taking accountability for the collapsed marriage by suggesting, “If I don’t feel love towards you, then it might be your fault, alright?”

Alongside changes in family dynamics following breakups, a statement for the TLC reality show also reveals that upcoming episodes will explore the tragic loss of Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison Brown, who passed away due to suicide at the age of 25 in March 2024.

The family is working their way through this heart-wrenching ordeal, which they refer to as an unbelievable tragedy, as stated in the press release. They are uniting to remember and honor his life by grieving and celebrating it together.

Sister Wives’ season 19 premiere airs Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
