If you’ve just started playing Skate 4, you might encounter a bug that causes a black screen, preventing you from leaving the tutorial area. While not everyone experiences this, it happens often enough to be a problem. Essentially, it stops you from progressing to the main game. Luckily, there are a few things you can try to fix it.
How to Fix Black Screen and Leave the Tutorial Island | Skate 4

To get off the starting island, simply follow the on-screen directions. Specifically, look for the purple circle on the map and walk onto it. The game will then ask you to press the Triangle button (if you’re on PlayStation) or the Y button (on Xbox) to travel to San Vansterdam. Just press the button when prompted, and you’ll be on your way!
If you don’t see the small purple circle, try closing and restarting the game. This usually solves the problem.
Here’s where things get a little complicated. Some players are experiencing a problem where the game freezes on a black loading screen. If this happens to you, we suggest giving it some time to load – try letting it sit for around 5 minutes or longer while you do something else.

If the loading screen freezes for over 5 minutes, try closing and restarting the game. If the game saved during loading, you should appear in San Vansterdam, past the tutorial area, meaning you’ve successfully avoided the black screen issue.
If the problem happens again, you may need to do some extra investigating. You could try waiting on the loading screen for a while to see if that helps.
If you’re still having trouble, you can try disconnecting your EA account. After doing that, you can either reconnect it or create a completely new one. This might make you start the tutorial over, but it should also help you move past the tutorial island if you’re stuck.
Unfortunately, that’s everything we currently know about resolving the black screen issue and escaping the tutorial island in Skate 4. If you’re still encountering these problems, you’ll have to wait for the developers to release an official update and patch. There isn’t a workaround players can use on their own at this time.
