Full Circle’s Skate had a rocky start to its early access period, experiencing connection problems and feedback about gameplay feeling repetitive, but the developers are continuing to improve it. Season one launches on October 25th, bringing new locations, challenges, and more than 200 customization options for players. You can see a preview in the trailer below.
Season 1 introduces two limited-time events – Skate-o-Ween and 7-Ply Maple Harvest – along with the Skate Pass. The Skate Pass works similarly to Helldivers 2’s Premium Warbonds, where you use Tix to earn rewards. While you’ll need to buy the Premium Pass to get all the items, there are also free cosmetic items available, such as new badges, emotes, outfits, and more.
Okay, so there are a ton of rewards – over 80 actually! – but Season 1 is kinda quick, ending soon with Season 2 starting in December. The good news is, they’re planning for future seasons to be longer and pack even more stuff – like 100 items each! And don’t worry about any SVB I’ve earned in this current pass, because I can use it to buy the next one. It’s pretty cool that it carries overlike that, right? I’m excited to see what Season 2 brings!
Skate is currently available in early access on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. We’ll share more information about Season 1 soon, and you can find the development roadmap here.
