Developer Full Circle recently shared an update on the progress of Skate. They detailed what players can expect in Season 3 and outlined their plans for the future. The update also highlighted improvements made since the game’s Early Access launch in September, including features like key frames, tilt and roll controls, and replay editor adjustments for field of view.
The studio emphasized that they are developing Skate with a focus on the future. They see this Early Access phase as crucial because it allows them to gather feedback, make improvements, and thoroughly test the game until it reaches its full potential.
Season 3 of Skate will introduce a significantly expanded version of the Isle of Grom. Players may remember Grom as the starting area, but this new version is much larger and designed for open exploration. It will feature huge gaps and spillways reminiscent of Skate 2 and 3. While all players will gain access to the map on May 5th, those with a skate.Pass Premium subscription can start exploring on March 10th. From April 14th, the map will be available through a special, limited-time event before becoming fully accessible to everyone.
Starting May 5th, players will need a day pass to visit Grom Island. These passes cost 500 Rip Chips, which you earn simply by playing the game. Once purchased, a day pass lets you access the island as many times as you like for 24 hours. If you have a skate. Pass Premium membership, you won’t need a day pass and can go straight to the island.
Okay, so Season 3 is going to seriously level up my character customization options! They’re adding a bunch of cool branded gear in the Skate Pass – I’m talking clothes from companies like Adidas, which is awesome. If I don’t want the Pass, that’s cool too, because the shop is getting over 200 new items for my character’s wardrobe. They said the selection will change sometimes to keep things fresh, but they plan to keep adding more and more stuff over time, which is exactly what I want!
Originally, EA and Full Circle announced that new locations in the Skate game would be added for all players through updates. However, as a ResetEra user noticed, they’ve since removed that promise from their official statements, meaning new areas may not be available to everyone.
More details on content coming to Skate with Season 3 will be revealed in the coming days.
The skateboarding game Skate launched on PC and all current PlayStation and Xbox consoles in September. While it initially attracted a large player base, the free-to-play game has experienced a significant decrease in the number of players online at the same time on Steam. Reviews were mixed upon release, and player feedback hasn’t improved much since then. Currently, the game has around 1,466 players online, with a peak of 2,646 in the last 24 hours (according to SteamDB). This is a considerable drop from its initial peak of 134,901 players five months ago.
Following the launch of Full Circle, EA released a cosmetic set inspired by Isaac Clarke from Dead Space in the game’s store. Priced at a little over $40, the set received criticism for its poor quality and appearance.
