The highly anticipated sequel to the popular card game Slay the Spire is launching into early access on PC via Steam on March 5th. A new animated trailer reveals that the Defect will be a playable character in Slay the Spire 2.
A major addition is cooperative play! Now you can team up with up to three friends to tackle the Spire, which has become even more challenging after being asleep for a thousand years. Working together allows for powerful combinations, and you’ll even find cards that are only available in multiplayer. You can choose from five characters, including two new ones to the game, and each character has their own special abilities and cards.
The recent early access release is just the first step, and the latest trailer suggests another new character will be added soon. Mega Crit Games hasn’t announced pricing or a detailed plan, but they’ve confirmed that more content, game modes, bug fixes, and improvements to game balance are planned throughout the early access period.
We’re aiming to keep working on this until the game is truly polished and enjoyable! We currently expect this to take one to two years, but that timeline is subject to change.
