The delightful animated series, Smiling Friends, is set to return on Adult Swim with Season 3 this Fall, much to the excitement of its fans. While eagerly anticipating the upcoming episodes, viewers have been treated to a sneak peek clip revealing some significant changes. This animated series, which has become one of the most successful original shows introduced by Adult Swim in recent years, is already scheduled for a third season premiere later this Fall. As fans patiently wait for new episodes, they’ve been lucky enough to lay their eyes on fresh content that hasn’t been shown before.
The animated series Smiling Friends is preparing to launch its promotional campaign with a variety of fresh images, clips, and other content on the horizon, and Adult Swim has taken the first step by unveiling a surprise short film on their YouTube channel. This sneak peek offers fans, who haven’t seen Pim and Charlie for quite some time, an all-new perspective. Interestingly, it seems that this new look at Pim might hint at some of the absurdity we can expect in the upcoming season. Take a peek below.
When Does Smiling Friends Season 3 Come Out?
As an avid fan, I can’t help but grin from ear to ear knowing that Smiling Friends Season 3 is set to grace our screens this Fall, courtesy of Adult Swim! However, a specific release date for the third season is still under wraps at the moment. But fret not, fellow enthusiasts! Adult Swim has already given us a double dose of good news by renewing Smiling Friends not just for Season 4, but for Season 5 as well! This fantastic turn of events ensures that our beloved animated series will continue to entertain us for a while longer. Interestingly, the creators themselves have hinted at contemplating when to bring this animated gem to its fitting conclusion.
Zach Hadel, one of the creators of “Smiling Friends,” expressed his thoughts on social media when Seasons 4 and 5 were announced. He said, “[Michael Cusack] and I decided early on that we didn’t want the show to outlast its charm or become dull, and we plan to keep that promise. I’m not sure how long we’ll continue, but I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store for this season.” He also thanked “our dedicated creative team who put so much effort into making the show as excellent as possible, the network for giving us the freedom to create our vision, and everyone out there for even watching this production in the first place.
Smiling Friends Plans SDCC 2025 Takeover
In July 2025, San Diego Comic-Con will host “Smiling Friends” Season 3 among other shows, courtesy of Adult Swim. Co-creators Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack are set to unveil the new season at a special panel on July 25th. Additionally, “Smiling Friends” is slated as one of the highlighted premieres during “Adult Swim’s Night of New” event at the convention.
Adult Swim’s ‘Night of New’ is an exclusive outdoor screening happening, showcasing previously unseen content from Adult Swim. This includes a sneak peek at the Season 8 finale of ‘Rick and Morty’, full episodes of ‘Smiling Friends’, as well as new shows like ‘Women Wearing Shoulder Pads’ (set to premiere in August) and ‘Haha, You Clowns’. Unfortunately, unlike past events of this nature, it seems unlikely that this event will be available online.
