Samani’s got his eyes on the prize, and it’s not just about being the “fastest horse” in the crypto space 🐴. He’s all about Solana’s on-chain order books, baby! 💸
“Latency was not low enough,” he says, “but as the chain has gotten more stable, as latency’s come down, as throughput is increased, that’s made it more usable for on-chain order books.” 💥
And what about Ethereum? 🤔 Samani’s got some harsh words for the OG blockchain. “Ethereum’s core problem is they’re not optimized for anything,” he says. “The definition of focus is saying no to things. And they absolutely refuse to do so.” 🙅♂️
But don’t worry, Ethereum fans! 🙌 Samani’s got a soft spot for the underdog. “You have to be focused on latency, throughput, and gas cost,” he says. “Bitcoin and Ethereum from inception were always like, ‘Oh my God, scarcity.’ Solana’s perspective has always been, ‘Let’s let Moore’s Law do its thing and run a billion transactions in parallel.'” 🤖
And, oh yeah, regulatory winds are shifting! 🌬️ Samani’s got the inside scoop from the White House Crypto Summit. “It was really awesome for me to see that they committed two hours, they sat there with us, they listened, they took notes, and they were asking really good questions,” he says. 🤓
So, what’s the takeaway? 🤔 Samani’s got a message for all you crypto enthusiasts out there: “My general belief today is that the easiest money to be made in crypto is buying liquid names that are the winners in their respective areas.” 🤑
Five years after backing Solana in its earliest days, Multicoin Capital remains unwavering in its conviction. “We underestimated the difficulty of on-chain order books,” Samani admitted. “But we never gave up on it, and I think we’re pretty close now.” 💯
