The mobile game, Solo Leveling: Arise, originates from the highly acclaimed Korean web novel. However, in contrast, the forthcoming Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive isn’t just a spin-off; it’s a self-contained, premium console game exclusively for the PlayStation 5, due for release next year.
Confused?

It appears that based on some subtle hints in a recent blog post from Netmarble, they are planning to adapt their original mobile game for console platforms. This adaptation seems to involve removing the gacha system and loot boxes, with all content becoming accessible via gameplay instead.
The blog post explains that the reworked controls on the DualSense offer a more enjoyable and tactile experience, the graphics have been enhanced to utilize Sony’s system capabilities, and new features and gameplay elements have been incorporated to facilitate the shift from mobile gaming to console. The article is lengthy but covers these key points in detail.
Development producer Kim Gwang Hoon explained:
First and foremost, it’s important to note that Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive offers a comprehensive gaming experience. Unlike other games where success is often determined by luck when it comes to hiring Hunters or crafting weapons, our game focuses on rewarding skill and strategy. This way, players can genuinely enjoy the sense of accomplishment as they earn and progress with their Hunters, weapons, and overall gameplay – all without relying on in-app purchases.
The title will launch on PC from 17th November for $39.99, but the PS5 version will follow in 2026.
