Following the tremendous triumph of “Solo Leveling” as a web novel, manhwa, and more recently an anime, the franchise is growing further with a live-action adaptation, leaving fans thrilled beyond words. Although whispers about a live-action version had been circulating for quite some time, it was only recently that the series validated these rumors. In addition to providing fans with confirmation, “Solo Leveling’s” live-action production also unveiled its casting choice for Jinwoo, with the captivating star Byeon Woo-seok from “Lovely Runner” and “20th Century Girl” taking on the role of the enchanting protagonist.
Byeon Woo-seok is an ideal choice to portray Jinwoo due to his striking charm and impressive acting skills across multiple K-dramas. However, it seems that Woo-seok’s talent extends beyond romantic roles as fans have discovered a comical side of him in recent projects. In May, Byeon Woo-seok teamed up with Chae Soo-bin for a furniture commercial by Iloom. The ads have attracted attention, but not for the expected reasons – instead, they showcase a humorous aspect to Woo-seok’s acting abilities.
Solo Leveling’s Live-Action Jinwoo Stars in Hilarious Furniture Promo
The three-part advertising sequence starts when Woo-seok unexpectedly encounters his former high school sweetheart, Soo-bin, on a bus. They reminisce about old times. This ad campaign follows a dramatic, Korean drama-style narrative, which is somewhat unusual. However, the reason it’s garnered attention isn’t just its visual appeal but also the amusing manner in which furniture endorsements are subtly integrated into this heartwarming reunion story.
Byeon Woo-seok’s dry humor adds an extra layer of amusement as he informs his high school crush that he expects a great day, having purchased a new mattress. He proceeds to detail the specifications and attributes of the mattress while still on the bus, maintaining a serious demeanor. The narrative reaches a climax when Woo-seok likens Soo-bin to a modular sofa, reminiscing about her friendly nature during their high school days.
Personally speaking, among all the ads for this campaign, it’s the third one that had me in stitches! You know the scene where Woo-seok rushes to Soo-bin’s aid when she’s drenched by the rain? It’s strikingly similar to his heroic act from “Lovely Runner.” Now, And get this, they both end up taking off, holding that table over their heads. It’s clear Byeon Woo-seok has played many roles before, but this ad might just be the ultimate proof of his versatility. If I didn’t already have high hopes, “Solo Leveling’s” live action is now looking incredibly promising!
