Solo Leveling Returns With a New Release Amid Season 3 Delay

It’s been over a year since the second season of Solo Leveling came out, and we still haven’t heard anything about a third season from the animation studio. The second season covered the Jeju Island Arc, and the next one is expected to delve into the mysteries of the world and finally explain where Jinwoo’s powers come from. Unfortunately, fans hoping for more were hit with disappointing news at the start of 2026: Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is on hold indefinitely. This sequel story, originally written by an author named Daul after the main Solo Leveling story ended, was also turned into a manhwa in 2024.

Jin, the artist behind the popular webcomic, has begun his mandatory military service, which typically lasts between 18 and 21 months. This means fans will have to wait at least two years for the comic to continue. Luckily, the story, called Ragnarok, is already very successful! Yen Press has announced that the first English-language print volume will be released in July 2026. This 296-page volume will be available as a paperback and digitally on Amazon, Crunchyroll, and other select retailers. Pre-orders are open now, and the specific release date will be announced a few weeks beforehand.

What Is Solo Leveling: Ragnarok About?

This story takes place in a different version of events, focusing on Jinwoo’s son, Suho. It begins with an explanation of powerful, god-like beings who created many universes and observed them. They enjoyed watching the battles and conflicts of the worlds below, but everything changed when one of these beings was killed by something they themselves had made.

When strange gates begin appearing, unleashing dangerous monsters, university student Suho discovers he has special powers. He then sets out on a dangerous journey to overcome the Shadow Dungeon and battle powerful, otherworldly creatures in order to protect the world.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Still Needs an Official Announcement

Even though the anime Solo Leveling has become incredibly popular, a second season hasn’t been officially announced yet. There’s been talk online about a movie possibly coming before Season 3, but A-1 Pictures hasn’t confirmed anything. These rumors started with a social media post and quickly spread through various accounts and news sources, even though details are limited.

Although a significant anime announcement could arrive in 2026, it’s very unlikely we’ll see a new season or movie this year. The story is set to change dramatically after the Jeju Island Arc, with viewers anticipating some incredibly intense fights and surprising turns of events.
