Solo Leveling Studio Confirms Acclaimed Shonen Series Amid Season 3 Delay

It’s been nearly a year since the second season of Solo Leveling finished, and the studio hasn’t announced anything about a third season yet. The anime has become incredibly popular, and fans worldwide are eager to see the rest of Jinwoo’s story. Season two ended with the exciting Jeju Island Arc, where Jinwoo defeated the Ant King and added him to his shadow army. This arc was full of action, showcasing Jinwoo’s incredible power and earning him the title of S-Rank Hunter. But there are still many unanswered questions about the world’s past, including the cosmic wars and the origin of the mysterious gates.

A-1 Pictures, the animation studio known for hits like Solo Leveling, is highly respected in Japan. While Solo Leveling is their most popular work, they’ve also created other well-loved series such as Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Your Lie in April. They’re currently working on an anime adaptation of Yukino Sonoyama’s manga, Bless, which began appearing in Kodansha’s Shonen Sirius magazine in 2022. A beautiful trailer and impressive visuals have already been released, and all the details about the series are available on the official website.

What Is Bless About?

Fifteen-year-old Aia Udagawa is selected as a model for the Aoi Festival Artist Contest because of his past experience. While dealing with his own personal challenges, he becomes aware of Jin Sumisaki, a noticeably tall and self-conscious girl who is insecure about her freckles and height. They are assigned to work together—Aia as the model and Jin as the stylist—but Aia is secretly disappointed, as he had given up on his ambition to be a makeup artist, believing he wasn’t skilled enough.

Despite being strikingly beautiful and possessing the potential to excel as a model, Sumisaki struggles with a lack of self-confidence. Surprisingly, she proposes that she and Udagawa switch roles, giving him full creative control. As the story unfolds, both characters support each other in overcoming their insecurities and pursuing their dreams. Sumisaki confidently walks the runway, inspired by her mother, and Udagawa re-enters the fashion world, determined to succeed.

A new anime series has been announced with a promotional video, and it’s scheduled to premiere in 2027. While a specific release date isn’t available yet, we should hear more details in the coming months. The anime is based on a manga that currently has seven volumes available. You can find links to buy the manga, as well as read the first chapter for free, on the official Kodansha website. The eighth volume is set to be released on March 9th, 2026, and the English version should follow within about a year.
