Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA’s famous blue character, has become a big movie star. A fourth Sonic film is planned, with Paramount Pictures scheduling its release for March 2027. The Sonic movies have been incredibly popular, each one earning more money than the previous, and the series has now grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide.

The Sonic movies have kept audiences engaged by continually expanding the action and bringing in well-known actors. With Sonic the Hedgehog 3, they introduced Shadow and cast Keanu Reeves to voice him, following Idris Elba’s appearance as Knuckles in the previous film. This naturally led to a lot of interest in who would play Amy Rose in Sonic 4, especially after her brief appearance at the end of Sonic 3.

A decision has been reached that will give the company a significant advantage as it continues to build its fanbase.

Sonic 4 Cast Frozen’s Kristen Bell As Amy Rose

Kristen Bell will be the voice of Amy Rose in Sonic 4, as confirmed by Ben Schwartz, who also stars in the series. Schwartz announced the news online, sharing a photo of himself and Bell with toys of their characters to celebrate the announcement.

Bell is already an experienced voice actor, especially known for her work as Anna in Disney’s hugely successful Frozen movies. The Frozen franchise has earned $2.7 billion and really highlighted her vocal talents, making her a favorite among younger viewers. She’s bringing that same skill to her role in Sonic 4.

This could be great for Sonic 4. Having her involved adds a popular face to the game’s promotion, and gives fans someone they’ll be excited to hear voicing Amy. Her casting should be met with enthusiasm, building even more hype for Bell’s first appearance as Amy in Sonic 4 next year.
