Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ Character Roster Getting Even Crazier with More Free PS5, PS4 Updates

It’s impressive how well SEGA and Sonic Team have continued to support Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds after its release.

The game’s downloadable content includes popular characters like Pac-Man, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Minecraft. In addition to these paid additions, there have also been several free updates adding new characters that the game’s publisher already owns.

Well, it’s now been announced that this is set to continue well into 2026:

Three characters from SEGA will be racing in the kart game, and it’s a bit of a surprise who they are.

In April, we’ll be adding Red from Angry Birds and Goro Majima (looking as he does in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii). Arle from Puyo Puyo will join them in May. Plus, each new character comes with a unique vehicle!

In addition to the new characters, SEGA has announced that several new songs will be available in the game’s music selection. They are:

  • “MAGICAL SOUND SHOWER” by Hiro (Out Run)
  • “Let’s Go Away” by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA)
  • “Soul on Desert” by Jun Senoue (SEGA Rally 2)
  • “Like The Wind (B Course) Arcade Version” by Hiro (Power Drift)
  • “Outside a Crisis” by SEGA (Katsuhiro “Funky K.H” Hayashi) (Super Hang-on)
  • “Main Theme (Enduro Racer)” by Hiro (Enduro Racer)
  • “God Only Knows” by A-One
  • “Like the Wind (Reborn)” by Sampling Masters MEGA (Power Drift)

SEGA fans are going to love this! Imagine racing as Hatsune Miku in SpongeBob’s car on a Pac-Man track, all while listening to Magical Sound Shower. It’s a crazy combination, and that’s what makes this game so fun.
