PlayStation is celebrating 30 years, and they’re marking the occasion by letting fans pre-order a $325 deluxe photography book. It’s a fitting way to celebrate, don’t you think?
So, according to Isabelle Tomatis, Sony’s VP of global marketing, that’s the plan! She recently shared on the PlayStation blog that we’re going to get a look at some really cool stuff – never-before-seen prototypes, concept sketches, and design models. Basically, a behind-the-scenes look at how Sony Interactive Entertainment actually built their hardware. I’m really excited to see what they show – it’s like getting a peek at the design process itself!
It’s also important to know that a Standard edition of the book is available for pre-order at a price of $125. The Deluxe edition, however, includes special features such as exposed binding, a clamshell presentation box, and exclusive prints.

Sony is creating a sense of exclusivity by producing a limited run of just 1,994 copies. They anticipate this will make it a highly sought-after item for collectors.
If the books still aren’t enough to persuade you, they’re also launching sneakers created with Reebok, as a tribute to the very first PlayStation console.
This decision upset many fans, and some shared their disappointment on platforms like Reddit and X. Currently, there are approximately 1,500 Deluxe edition books still available for pre-order.
