Most people have now seen the latest sales figures from Famitsu, and it’s clear that Sony is unlikely to successfully compete with the upcoming Switch 2.
Even though the company essentially copied Nintendo by releasing a less expensive, region-locked console in its own country, it hasn’t been enough to take the lead in sales. While things have improved, it’s still being consistently outsold by the competition.
So, what’s happening next? If things get really exciting, imagine a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ moment, but for VTubers! They’ve collaborated with popular stars Kaminari Qpi and Shiranami Ramune to create a series of highlight videos showcasing the new games coming to the PlayStation 5.
The event will showcase several games, including the new survival horror title Resident Evil Requiem, the anticipated gacha game NTE: Neverness to Everness, and Pragmata, Capcom’s highly anticipated sci-fi shooter.

Honestly, I’m not sure how much of a difference it’ll really make, but I’ve noticed Sony is using more and more celebrities in Asia to help promote their stuff. It seems like they’re really trying to boost things with famous faces over there.
Last Christmas, the company collaborated with the up-and-coming group QWER to create a festive song specifically for Korea. More recently, they announced that Kim Chaewon from the group Le Sserafim would be representing their brand as an ambassador in the region.
