According to insider NateTheHate on Twitter, a new State of Play presentation is likely coming soon. He also clarified that previous reports about an enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption 2 were accurate and weren’t confused with the first game.
Another State of Play presentation in February isn’t unexpected, as one happened around the same time last year. The recent nearly 47-minute showcase mainly highlighted games from other developers, such as Tides of Annihilation, Borderlands 4, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and Monster Hunter Wilds. It also featured several PlayStation exclusives, including Lost Soul Aside, Days Gone Remastered, and Saros.
Now that Housemarque’s intense bullet-hell shooter is coming out in April, we can likely expect a new trailer sometime next month. It also seems likely that PlayStation will do a dedicated ‘State of Play’ presentation focusing on the game, potentially later in March. This is because Saros is one of the biggest PlayStation 5 exclusive games planned for this year, alongside Marvel’s Wolverine, which is scheduled to release this fall.
I’m really hoping Sony has some big announcements coming up! There’s a chance we’ll see a ton of new games, both huge titles and smaller indie projects. I’m especially excited about the possibility of finally getting a good look at Silent Hill: Townfall – it’s been so long since we’ve heard anything about it, and a listing showed a potential March release date! Honestly, I’m trying to stay optimistic, but I’m also bracing myself in case the reveals aren’t as amazing as we’re all hoping.
There will be, yes.
